Question Would an animal shelter want my old baby blankets?

My youngest is four and well we don't need all these baby blankets.
We used them for years though so they aren't nice enough to pass down to anyone. My kids would use them to clean up messes too so some are stained. I hate to just throw them away. I was wondering if an animal shelter could use them?

Yes! An animal shelter probably would. In my area they love it when we bring old blankets in. Call them and they will probably say YES.

I know the humane society near us always needs blankets. I would call your local shelter, I bet they would be very happy for a donation of blankets.

That's a great thought! I agree, I think any animal shelter would love your blankets. They can be used for cats, small dogs & puppies.

Yes! I have a list of things needed from our local animal shelter and blankets is one of them among a lot of other stuff. Get a list from them...you'll be surprised what all you may have that they will need. They probably even have a website with a list of things needed.

Great! I'm going to go through bedding and blankets this week and see what I come up with. We have so much old bedding that I have no where to put it. Time to get rid of it.

I never thought to check their website, I know they have one I checked it a few months ago because my 10 year old son wanted to volunteer there so we looked up to see how old he needed to be. He has to wait two more years.

No some of these are ten years old and like I posted in my first post my kids would clean up spills with them so some are stained. They just don't look nice anymore. I know if someone gave them to me to use for a baby I would think they were crazy.
They have been well loved and they show that.

Now my four year old probably has some that are still in good condition so those we will donate to someone who can use them for a baby.

Most shelters would love you forever if you could include a bottle of cheapo laundry soap with those much loved blankets.

The local shelters here love to get bedding, laundry soap, dishwasher soap and paper towels among other things.

That is a great thought!! If you have a no kill shelter that is run on limited funds I would take them there.

I once took several towels (most new) to the(Gwinnett in GA) County Humane Soc. and asked the lady there and she told me that she would have to take a look at them first. She was just a bitter old mean lady.
