I lost 6 lbs this past week!

WOW! I started working out most days of the week for about an hour and have been eating better. I went to work out Thursday and had lost 6 lbs according to the wii fit!!

I added a lot of fiber to my diet, which I see now was almost non-existent before

Wow....Good for you!! Thats amazing. It would take me a month to take off that much weight. I remember the good old days when I could diet and actually see the scale go down on weekly basis, those days are gone.

Are you doing the Wii fit program? A friend of mine is doing it and she's losing weight really quick, too!

Yes, the Wii fit It all started with me going to the gym one day with a personal trainer. My legs hurt so bad that the lactic acid set in 2 days later and they hurt so bad I could barely go down the stairs. The only way to make it go away was either going back to the gym (which would involve using my legs ) or doing the Wii fit instead. I have been doing it for 12 days now and I love it!

Now that I am back to work I go up and down the stairs all day and I get there early to take an extra walk in the morning. I also am not home all day so there is no temptation to bake or pick at things in the fridge all day. I am hoping that after about a month or so I will lose an inch or two. After losing the 50 lbs 2008-2009 I have hit a plateau. I could do with losing another 20 lbs.

Good for you! I started using he Wii fit this time last year and lost almost 20 pounds between Jan. and June of last year. Most of that was using the free running ... and strength training. Also basically did what they call the 400 calorie fix now .... man I could've written that book a year ago! I did it alittle different ... usually 200 calorie bkfst, 400 calorie lunch and 600 calorie dinner w/3 100 calorie snacks at some point during the day. It was very do-able, and I ate whatever I felt like eating, just smaller portions. Even fast food ... just look on their websites to plan what you're going to eat before you get there. And I didn't eat the baked potato ... whopper jr and fries!

I mentioned in another link that I have been doing P90X. I started a little over two weeks ago. I don't know my results yet, I do my measurements at the 30 day mark, then again at 60...and finally 90 days. It has been a very intense program so far, working different muscle groups, and cardio six days a week. You get one day a week to rest, or stretch. I decided to do it to shake up my routine. I wasn't seeing any results from previous workout/diet program, so I am hoping to see some results from this! I have had to take exercise and diet to a whole new level this year after finding out I have Hypothyroidism. My body just does not want to lose weight, or even maintain. Its been a daily struggle. Over the years, I had always been able to take weight off with a week of dieting, but not anymore.

Tammyleeb .... I feel for you with the hypothyroidism ... I have had problems with mine as well and its frustrating. Do you take medication? I wouldn't be too hard on yourself if it is not regulated yet ... sometimes it takes awhile to find the right medication, and if you don't think its right don't be afraid to keep asking them to test it. Until it's "normal" losing weight will probably be a losing battle unfortunately.

Yes, I am taking Synthroid. I started on 50 mg last June and in October they upped it to 75mg. My TSH levels are down, but not as low as I think they should be. I went years not knowing why I had anemia, and I was always tired, cold and would cry at the drop of a hat! When I changed doctors, the first thing she did was send me for Thyroid testing. When she first put me on Synthroid, I gained 8lbs in ten days, which was a huge amount on my frame. Now, I have to exercise to the extreme just to maintain my current weight. I never realized just how much your Thyroid impacts your entire body! I would be thrilled to be able to eat like a normal person, and be able to cut back my exercising to four days a week, instead of the six days that I currently do. Thanks for the kind words....I know that I am not alone with the Hypo issue!
