I bought Quench from Olay - with a full mail in rebate for trying it. I like it. You'd have to poke around to find the rebate as I no longer have the printable link. It has not expired yet but I don't have the link. I also use a little baby oil sprayed on myself when I shower. When you spray it on your skin directly, it does not make the tub slippery. Rub it in and lightly rinse. I get the baby oil at the Dollar Tree. They also have a gel baby oil in the baby section at Dollar Tree that you can rub on in the shower. It works just fine too. ------------------------------------ Update: I found the link to get your rebate for Oil Of Olay's Quench lotion: http://www.olay.com/Club_Olay/dec200...m_ClubOlay.pdf It is good through the end of January. It's worth a try. The price is right!! :-)

I second the Gold Bond Ultimate Healing skin therapy cream. In the winter, my co-workers and I experience severely chapped hands. We all get really painful splits in our finger tips by the nail. It has been a very cold winter here so our hands are already in rough shape; we usually do not see this problem til much later in the season. DH is always buying me hand creams to try to alleviate the problem. The Gold Bond has helped extremely well. I bought a big bottle to bring to work and several other people are enjoying good results with it as well.

Curel Itch Defense. It's new. I rec'd a sample and my DH who has really dry itchy skin tried it. He has absolutely tried just about everything on the market. He said Curel Itch Defense is the best thing he's tried. Then my DIL came in and stayed with us. She too has dry itchy skin and asked me if I had anything and I let her use the Curel Itch Defense. She said the same thing--- and went out and brought a big bottle of it when she got back home.

The expensive ones are better. For years, I could never understand how Vaseline kept selling lotion. It smelled funky and was very watery, and I mean watery. WELL! I got their new blue bottle sheer infusion line free at Walgreens a couple of months ago and it is good. I was surprised it was from Vaseline. This week, Target has it buy 2 at $10 total, get a $5 gift card and there were $1 coupons out recently. Walgreens sells it for around $7 each so the Target deal this week is great. dl (edited to change from infusium to infusion, lotion not shampoo, lol) Last edited by deddlastt; 01-10-2010 at 03:28 PM. |

Aveeno, or the CVS/Walmart/Whatever version works really well, and the latter is pretty cheap, and almost identical. It has silicone, which I find helps a lot. The new Vaseline stuff is also nice, but so expensive for the size of the bottle.

If you have really dry hands or feet that are splitting/cracking get Bag Balm. Put it on at bed time and cover it with cotton gloves/socks. It really works. And in case anyone was wondering, yes, it is a balm that is used on cows udders. You may have to ask for it at the pharmacy counter, many stores carry it just not out on the regular shelves. If you can't find it at the regular store, try a farm supply store such as Tractor Supply.

Another vote for Gold Bond. Other good ones are Avon Moisture Therapy and any creamy petroleum jelly, like a previous poster said. If possible put on gloves after applying anything to your hands.
