What's everyone reading?

I need some new book ideas. I read more in the winter, as all I want to do is cuddle up and read.

I just finished "Nanny Returns", which is like part 2 of "The Nanny Diaries". It was excellent and I sped through it.

I'm starting "The Lovely Bones" today.

I just finished The Lovely Bones. It was a spectacular book. I am now starting The Potluck Club Takes The Cake. I just read Dandelion A Memoir of a Free Spirit (good book), My Abandonment (good not great), Inner City Judge (surprised that Judge Mathis was such a horrendous hood I thought he had just dabbled) and I'm in the middle of reading Losing It by Valerie Bertinelli.

"Firefly Lane" by Kristin Hannah. It is a wonderful book that spans two girlfriends' lives over 30 years, starting back in the 70's. My sister and niece also read it at the same time as I did, and we all loved it. Couldn't put it down.

Now I'm starting on another of her books, "True Colors". Just started this one today.

Reading "Under the Dome", the newest Stephen King book. Beware, though, it is a huge book and weighs a ton! It's really good.

I read a lot of Dean Koontz, Nicholas Sparks and James Patterson and I think all their books are good. What type of books do you like?

I just read Open by Andre Agassi. I thought it was very well written and interesting. I just finished another book about the Rain Forest and tribes which I was glad to finish. Now I am going to read Going Rogue by Sarah Palin.

My all time favorite books are:

Gone With The Wind
The Genesis Code by John Case
Butterfly, by Kathryn Harvey (there's also a sequel to Butterfly, can't remember the name right now. Both are a little um...risque)

Also love The Winner, by David Baldacci

Oh, and if you read The Genesis Code, keep two things in mind...make it through the first 40 or so pages, it gets MUCH better. And 2), email me - I'm dying to have someone to discuss the last page with!!

I am currently reading a Christian Romance collection of stories. Almost finished. Has anyone read The Clan of the Cave Bear (and its sequel...forget the name) by Jean Auel? I read them many years ago and think I might like to read them again if I run across them.

I am reading "Where Men Win Glory" by Jon Krakauer. It is the story of Pat Tillman. I am still in the beginning, and there is alot of the complicated history of Afganistan, so it is slow reading for me right now.

I'm leaving for a 2-week trip to Guatemala on Saturday on a Habitat for Humanity trip. So, my reading lately is in prep for that. Currently, I'm reading I Rigoberta Menchu: An Indian Woman in Guatemala to give me some perspective on the plight of the Mayan indians in this region. Next up is The Long Night of White Chickens by Francisco Goldman.

I've read Clan of the Cave Bear a few times and there are actually several books in the series, can't remember all the names and the order but there is The Mammoth Hunters and Valley of the Horses I'm pretty sure but I think there are 1 or 2 more too.

Love Stephen King. I have everybook he ever wrote. If you have read the book IT you can do it. He does have some thick books. I also love Dan Brown

I just finished To Kill a Mockingbird. Oldest DD read it for school a couple years ago and I realized I had never read it, so I had it in my queue and finally got it done.

I'm getting ready to start Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. It's about a guy in a circus. A friend recommended it - we'll see.

Reading? I wish I had time. I probably could make time but when I have a spare minute I am crafting, reading mags or catching up on internet.

I read and enjoyed the book first (I cried, too). Then I saw and enjoyed the movie (cried in it, too). However, they did change the ending. But, you'd probably enjoy the movie. I didn't know in advance that they changed it. At least you'd be expecting the difference.
