wow I am so sorry. My friend from work just lost one of her 2 labs to liver cancer a couple of months ago and yesterday her other lab (they were sisters) went in the hospital and was diagnosed with liver cancer as well. I wonder if labs have a problem with their liver??

My parents dog had liver disease and died a couple years ago (I swear it was from that bad pet food from China, but they don't think so). She stopped eating and lost a lot of weight. She was 12 or 13 and the vet did some tests, but it was going to be very expensive to treat and they thought she was too old to proceed with it. They did everything they could to make her last months happy. They tried everything to get her to eat. Lunch meat, scrambled eggs, etc...whatever they could think of. She'd eat a little and be done. Eventually she couldn't eat anymore and then she had trouble walking and the "light" went out of her eyes, so they had to put her to sleep. It was tough. Lisa

So sorry to hear about your dog. Is this something that you are going to be able to treat? My dog was diagnosed with Addison's disease about 2 years ago. Her adrenal glands don't work, and as a result she gets an injection of medicine every 28 days and a pill a day. It is certainly heartbreaking to have a sick pet. Good luck, I hope it all turns out ok for you. Stacey |

Thanks everyone I brought him home today. They havent gotton the results yet from the biopsys they did He is on 3 medications. He did stop eating, that was one reason I took him to Dr.. He also lost alot of weight. His liver is enlarged. It cost me 1470 dollars for the vet bill so i hope i can love him for a while longer. Funny what you can do and spend on your pets but its worth it. Hope I got money back for incometax. thanks again everyone

I know it has only been a few days, but how is your dog doing? I groomed a chocolate lab yesterday and was thinking of you. I'll say it again...they are about the sweetest dogs that God ever made. I hope you are doing ok. My dog will turn 13 this week. I try not to think about it, but I know that she won't be with us much longer probably. It's amazing how expensive those vet bills can be. I guess when it comes to our kids or pets, we'll do whatever it takes though. Keep us updated. ~Lisa

He is holding his own. Back to barking. The biopsy showed a very bad gallbladder that could burst and he will need surgery. H will have another ultra sound Feb. 4th. We are just taking it and loving him day to day. Thank you all for your concern. I will keep you informed.
