Wink Please remember the late Dr Martin Luther King Jr for his birthday today

In remembering this wonderful caring compassionate man the late Dr Martin Luther King Jr. you accomplished so many true wonderful things for our country and all Americans have you to thank to changing the laws that all man are equal and all should be forever treated as such. Also thanks to him for spreading the word of peace, peace to all mankind. Whenever I hear or read his famous speech he gave in our nations capital I have a dream it truly tugs at my heart and brings tears to my eyes . God bless your soul and dream does live on and we have you to thank you for all you did . Peace. Catherine

No offense to kts / her father.

ill, I can see that folks born on any of the other 364 days per year must not be wonderful people, per you.

Unless anyone is living under a rock in the USA, holidays are well known and most people (lest I generalize) don't need to be reminded......especially since most of these people are less than wonderful because their birth wasn't on that day.

My brother turned 42 today I'm not saying he's more or less special than anyone else and he certainly has not done the wonderful things that Dr Rev Martin Luther King did however I wish him a Happy Birthday today too.

Come on you guys don't be so mean to Catherine. She was not implying that that Kathy's father was any better or more wonderful than anyone else. Catherine is a very sweet, open, honest, loving, genuine person. She doesn't deserve all the $h!t people on this board give her.

Pick on me instead or look in the mirror I'm sure you'll see something to pick on there. I don't understand why someone has to be mean on every thread she starts. Well yes I do. People who are unhappy with themselves pick on people like her.

She hasn't done anything to anyone. And she may say things differently than some of us but believe me she is a good person and she has no evil intentions.

So can't you find another target for a while and lay off her?

Thanks Anna so much and no way did I mean anything or any harm that Kts's dad was more special because he was born on the same day as the late Dr Martin Luther King Jr's birthday everyday is a special day for me except for one day which at this point I will not even mention for fear of further problems here. Ladies you are reading way too much into this thread. I started the thread and Kts choose to write her post and I wrote back what the heck 2/25 is very special to me because its my Dads birthday plain and simple. Peace okay this post was about Peace nothing else. Catherine

So anna, what you are saying is that we are mean because we have different opinions?? Face it, in life there are not always roses... and people dont always agree...
Last I looked there was freedom of speech... Or are the Obama backers trying to take that away too??
And by the way I am very happy with myself and my life!

Not because you have different opinions. Because people constantly pick on Catherine. That is what's mean. A person can express their opinion without belittling someone and making fun of her.

Wow.....how did this thread go from celebrating MLK to throwing around insults. Sometimes I am totally amazed at the level to which a thread will get turned into nothing more than a place to throw around insults, and just be mean. Call me naive, but I do believe that it is possible to disagree with someone, and share your point of view without being rude (if your true intention is to just post your point of view).

Catherine was just being nice to me. MLK day is special to many people. My dads birthday is a holiday! That doesn't happen to too many people. People are downright mean to Catherine A LOT on here. She does come across "differently" many times on here but SO WHAT? No reason to be mean.
