One of my favorite clients died last night

I was just with her on Wednesday and she wasn't feeling well. I think a very small piece of me may have known it would be the last time I saw her, because I told her that she wasn't just a client to me - she was someone I really cared about. She told me that she loved me. She was 75 years old on New Year's Eve, and I'm really going to miss her.

My phone rang at 7:20 this morning, and it was her number on the caller id, so I just picked up the phone and said "Hey Miss Sylvia, how are you feeling today?" and it was her nephew telling me that she died last night. He asked me to come in and straighten up so the house would be nice and neat when family started arriving. I did, of course, but it was so difficult to go into that house knowing I'd never hear her voice again.

So sorry for your loss. Sounds like you were a friend to her.

I'm sorry for your loss. I used to work in a retirement home and it was really hard when someone who was special to you died.

Yeah, I am an assistant property manager in a senior apartment complex and have gotten very attached to some of the residents so it is difficult sometimes when one dies or ends up in a nursing home

OP, I hope you can take comfort in knowing how much this lady cared about and appreciated you.
