What would you keep if you could only keep one thing? I have to think about it for a while.

My first greedy impulse is to say ! Uhaul truck (loaded with all my stuff). lol

Ong that would be toooooo hard to choose from the most important however handsdown would be pictures of my children when they were babies, my wedding picture, my parents wedding picture and my brother Sonnys wallet too many things too many memories. About 6 years ago we were faced with this decision. (Perhaps I think this is why i am so pissed about the US helping everyone else...)
Our house flooded. We had literally 7 feet of water in our home. My husband and I put my mom and my kids in a boat and pushed them over a mile to safety... We had about 2 minutes to make a decision as to save some things and let others go.... When faced with a quick situation you would be surprised as to what you grab....

I grabbed a stuffed bear and pictures. My husband grabbed a die cast car and a pair of shoes. Literally that is what we were left with. However those things are most important to us now...

Yes but Dannic listen is not having your family safe and healthy the best treasured gifts of all. If it were me and I was in your shoes I too would try to take as much as I thought possible but all those items can somewhat be replaced. Of course I dearly realize not all can be replaced and I understand where your coming from, but you can make new memories and new pictures and those items you were not able to take or save, that is what memories are made of . They will remain bedded deep inside your heart, soul and mind and body forever and there they will remain and no diaster could ever take them away. I perhaps understand a bit more of where your coming from, but dear please remember just like you someone helped you and God created us all equal and to help and offer help to others who are less so much less fortunate like Haiti we must help and in time it will make your feel better. I am truly sorry for the loss and sadness you and your family experienced anyone who lives through a natural diaster may God bless them all one and all. I am happy you were able to take some things and most of you , you have your family safe, some of those people in Haiti have had to have their loved ones buried in mass graves and will never know their whereabouts, we all should be as great nation the United States of America thank God for what we have.I do like you agree we should take care of ourshelves first, but as humans who have compassion we must help others and if other countries do not want to help us, be better then them for God will remember you for kindness and compassion.
