Talking OCC Shoebox Co-ordinator?

It's been quite awhile since I posted on here, but I seem to remember someone was a co-ordinator for the Christmas Shoebox project with Samaritan's Purse. What I am wondering is, do you think SP will ask for a special shipment of the boxes for Haiti in the spring like they did after the Tsunami?

I've already been able to get a number of things on clearance at Target and I can step up my searches and purchases if you think it will be needed early this year.

Had a wonderful time last November packing with my small church. It is such a blessing.

Hi!
I am an area coordinator for Long Island, NY.
From what I have been hearing, they are not yet doing special children's shoeboxes for Haiti. The other needs are just too overwhelming. Samaritan's Purse (their parent organization) is the relief arm and have been on the scene from the beginning. They are sending doctors, and lots of other necessary items.
Here is the main link
Samaritan's Purse | International Relief
and they are listing a number of ways to help.

Perhaps in a few months when the initial disaster triage is over, they might send a special shipment. I'll let you know when I hear.

God Bless you for your open heart.

Thanks Rose I knew it wouldn't be right away. I've been keeping up with the reports ever since the earthquake happened. For years our church supported a lovely missionary nurse in Jacmel who started a medical ministry there. She has since passed away, but I still like to keep track of things there.
