I was leaving Target the other day and there were two people walking in front of me a bit ahead of me. It was a mom and her daughter. The daughter was probably in her late teens or early 20's and had Downs Syndrome. I naturally am a very fast walker so I was in my car and ready to go while they were just getting to the area behind my car. I looked back to see the girl slowly slushing through the puddles in the parking lot. There was a lot of water in the parking lot and some really, really big puddles. I watched her enjoy herself in the puddles while waiting for them to pass and said to myself "that reminds me of me". I had to laugh-I loved walking through puddles when I was a kid but I don't have Downs Syndrome. My kids got a big chuckle out of that when I told them! lol

Must have been an interesting week for shopping...

My friend and I were in Wal-Mart. She had checked out and was waiting for me. When I caught up with her, she said, "we have to wait a minute...the couple in front of me just bought a pregnancy test and I want to find out how it turns out!!!" lol

The girl had immediately gone to the restroom. So, of course I had to go check it out. Sure enough, she's in a stall with the test box laying all over the floor. I go out and a few seconds later out she comes. She exits, hi-fives the boy friend and off they go...LOL

And you think you are not being watched....!!!

As a Sub, I often work with disabled teens in the Special Ed rooms at our local High School. I cannot tell you how often they have helped me to sit back and remember to enjoy every single moment of life. They often are able to enjoy the small things in life...that we *normal* people take for granted! The other thing I have learned to embrace from working with them is that they really appreciate the time and effort that you take with them, unlike most of students in the regular classrooms! Special Ed is my favorite place to work!

I forgot to mention...Kathy...I'm a slush through a puddle kinda gal too!!!

Well, we assumed it was negative. I suppose if they would have wanted to be pregnant there might have been a hug, but who knows??? lol
