I would definitely ask him to change the picture. First impressions are really important when you're trying to sell. I hate the way my house looks in the winter but love it in the summer when everthing is green and the flowers are in bloom. I think it makes a big difference.

The only issue I could see is that if you post a pic where it's all green and it's currently snowy, etc....it *could* look like your house has been for sale for awhile.I know when we sold our house, we wanted a nice "green" pic but it was winter and he said if he posted our pic it would look like we had been for sale for awhile and offers would be lower. I asked around and that was the general agreement of real estate brokers

While it may look like the house has been for sale for a while, all listings have the days on the market listed. So, most people would know to look for that. I think you should show your house in the best possible way. I think it's all subjective. I think each realtor has different strategies for different reasons. I don't think it's any big deal to change the picture and if it bothers you, have him change it. Lisa

I would definitely call him and ask him to put the other picture up. With housing prices so low right now people can afford to be picky and the first image of the house and the street view is the most important first consideration in deciding if a person even wants to look at the home.

Have it changed! I did the same to my realtor. You hired him to sell your house! He needs to do what you have asked! I will say that our realtor did point out that people like the pictures to be current! Perhaps you could just redo the pictures without the cars and in a more favorable light.

That's a good point about it appearing to be on the market for a while. Can you take another photo without all the cars in the driveway and send to him to change?

I would suggest to change it to a better current picture. He could also post the older one you like and type captions on it (i.e. summer of 09) That way you can list it for people who would like to see what it looks like without the snow. I would take the new picture w/o cars though. It sure makes me wonder about who lives there when I can see personal stuff. I am in the market to purchase and have passed up many houses that are nice on the inside, but there are lots of cars on the street, etc. I was even looking at oil stains in the street on google maps to make sure many people weren't parking on the street for lengthy periods of time. HTH!!
