Miss Iowa grew up in our subdivision and was a few grades behind my oldest son. I'm going to watch and cheer for Miss Iowa!!!

I won't be watching. I personally think all these beauty pageants are pretty silly and have absolutely no redeeming value whatsoever to them.

I might watch if nothing else is on just for a little while simply because I adore Clinton and he'll be one of the hosts. It's simple fun entertainment just like listening to what ridiculous things the rich and famous are up to.

I'm not a big fan, but was watching one of the pageants several years ago. One of the contestants got this question...

"What do you think of affirmative action?"

the answer went something like this...
"hhmm I think that anything one does that is positive is wonderful. We should really try to be affirmative in our actions and in life...blah, blah, blah...."

It was a classic pageant moment that I was thrilled to have witnessed!!!! LOL

So, no I probably won't watch, but will be sorry if I miss a moment like that! heheh

From personal experience, Miss Iowa isn't. She's a med student as are a few other contestants. Like I said, I don't usually watch them, or if I do, I just tune in to see who wins. But gotta cheer for the hometown girl!
