Ok, that was hard. We live in Iowa. Her last remaining sibling lives in Texas. Her husband died about a year ago, they had no kids. Long story short-I had to call down there for a welfare check and someone (a neighbor I think) had called almost two weeks ago and they had checked on her then. The Sgt had to inform me that they had found her dead.

They don't suspect foul play, think it was natural causes, etc... I will be calling a detective about it on Monday. I drove over to my moms house to tell her. My brother lives with her but he wasn't home but came home not too long after I told my mom the news. She took it fairly well. We kind of thought this might happen to her someday, as she wouldn't go to the doctor and was kind of eccentric. It's still hard though. The really awful thing is that 4 yrs ago the same thing happened to her other sister. She lived on a farm in Texas and was found next to her back door after quite a few days in the hot Texas sun. So her only sisters both died alone and were left laying for days....I hope my mom deals with this ok as she is getting kind of fuzzy with age.
