| P90 update...
Well.....I am going on week six of P90X. It has been the hardest workout that I have ever done. I have only missed two workouts in six weeks (and I made those up on the following day). I haven't seen much for results on the scale, which is a little disappointing. I have only lost one pound in six weeks. I do feel stronger, and have increased my muscle mass. This workout is hard and isn't always easy to fit into my daily schedule, the shortest workout is one hour, the longest almost two hours....six days a week! I could only do one pull up when I started, yesterday...I was able to do 12 (three times). Started with 12 pushups, now I can do 15 (four times). So, I keep telling myself that I need to concentrate on the *health* aspect of working out, not just the numbers on the scale! I just can't seem to shed those last few pounds! Hubby has lost 8 lbs since we started! Anyone considering doing P90X, it is a great workout, but be prepared to be tired and sore!

I'm sure someone will correct me, but, it's my understanding that women's bodies are "programmed" to hold fat. So, keep at it! You're doing great

We've started working out, as well. DH is spending more time doing cardio and swimming. I've been doing cardio (elliptical, treadmill, stairstepper) as well as the rowing machine and weights. I can see the difference in my leg muscles, but I don't see anything on the scale. We've also been making small, sustainable changes in our diet (turkey for beef, smaller portion sizes, baked chips instead of regular, etc). DH - 9 pounds lost; me - 0 pounds lost! I'm hoping to start seeing it soon. Our gym has some "boot camp" type workouts. I think I'm going to try those in April - just need some time before to build up my stamina... Tammyleeb - I think that is so cool that you have gained strength! I hope to be able to post similar improvements soon. Great job!

Thanks for the kind words! At times, it has been a very difficult process for me. I honestly thought that I was in a good shape before I started this workout, but now realize....I still had a ways to go! I had been very faithful to my three days on the treadmill (12 miles a week), and my two days of weights. I had also stuck to my 1,200 calorie a day diet. But, I felt like I was in a bit of a rut. I was diagnosed with Hyporthyroidism last June, and it has become a constant battle to maintain my weight. My body had started to react in ways that I did not realize was possible. During the summer, I gained 8lbs in one week (despite my low calorie diet and exercise). I couldn't get my pants zipped up! I started doing research on problems with the Thyroid and realized that I was not alone! One of the reasons I decided to do P90X was in hopes of shaking up my metobolism (which at this point, because of Hypo...is shot). So, with that being said, I have been discouraged that I haven't seen better results. I feel like my life is wrapped around my workouts, which can be demanding. I do know that if I didn't keep on my low calorie diet and daily exercise, I would probably have gained a huge amount of weight. As it is....I am holding steady. I just cannot imagine keeping this pace going forever.
