| What makes you think that you've developed it? I have one cheek that gets a bit red right on the full part of the cheek. When I switched moisturerizers I noticed that my cheek improved considerably. Perhaps something in the moisturerizer caused the redness? I don't know. The redness is slight enough that I use green concealer. |

When I saw a dermatologist for it, I was given a topical cream. Didn't do anything for me, as I don't get the acne that usually comes with it, just the sunburnt- looking redness. I was told at the time that there was really no treatment for the redness and broken blood vessels, just for the acne. I hope you have better luck with your dr.

I'm with mailady. I've tried all kinds of stuff and been through several doctors. I just live with a red face. People frequently make remarks like "it looks like you've been out in the sun too much" or "have you been skiing?". Nothing seems to help. Good luck. I hope you find something that works for you.

I just had the redness and the cream took care of it. I've heard that the longer you let it go, the less likely that they'll be able to treat it successfully.

I went through treatments - ointment, lotions, bioposies and pill therapies---- nothing helped --- so i stopped using makeup for three years -- NONE-- washed with baby soaps -- and it improved 100% -- very occasionally I wear makeup - not everyday -- and have had no more issues

I've been on an generic antibiotic -(Doxycycline 100 mg. daily) for years and that is the only thing that works for me. Metrogel cream and the medicine that you can tint to look like foundation didn't work for me. If I miss more than a day or so of taking my pill, I get the red skin and problems. I wear makeup everyday. I like Bare Escentuals mineral makeup. It has never bothered my skin. Other mineral makeup has agree with me too. Clinique foundation and some products agree with my skin, but not all of their stuff does. I use Basis sensitive bar soap for my face. The cheapest place to get it is Walmart. Walgreens also has it for a little bit more. I can also use Cetaphil liquid cleanser for my face. Cetaphil also makes a moisturizer. It helps to stay out of the sun, not drink much alcohol and don't eat spicy foods. Things like laundry detergent and laundry softners can irritate your face too. Different things set different people off. If I can help you, please let me know. I've been being treated for around 20 years.
