What do you give your man for Valentine's Day?

Any ideas? I am never good at choosing gifts for men.

we get a sitter overnight, stay at a hotel, have dinner and drinks. I get him a card and he gets me a card. No gifts other than time for each other I would rather have a gift on a day he doesn't feel "pressured" to buy one. He knows I'll kill him if he buys flowers because he can buy then 3 times a year for the cost of once a year.

Usually we go the coast or somewhere and spend the night. We are kind of short on money right now. I will make him a special dinner and dessert and we will go to the hot tubs for an hour and just relax.
There have been years when I get him something usually some fishing item he wants.

We don't do much as far as gifts for V-Day either. I usually get him a CD that he wants, he usually gets me a few Godiva truffles and sometimes flowers. We then go out to dinner.

We started a new deal last month that was his idea. We have always done a bad job of going on dates. Our girls are teenagers now, so he suggested that we start doing one date a month and we take turns planning it. This month is my turn so we're going to a sushi place for dinner that was voted #1 for sushi in a local magazine. He loves sushi - I'm trying...then we're going to go look at rings. We've been married 20 years and were talking about getting new rings for our anniversary in Oct. but never did, so I thought V-Day would be a good time to go look. We're not going to buy yet, just browse.

He told his grandmother we would go into NY this weekend to visit so that is his gift, we are going to visit his grandmother. I am dreading it and would rather just buy him a card and a movie or a game for his ps3, but I'm doing what he wants.

We don't really make a big deal out of it...We usually exchange cards...I got him some Harry and David chocolates...I went to a Silpada jewelry party recently, so I told him that the necklace I bought could be my gift...I usually don't spend that kind of money on a necklace...Nothing like buying your own gift, huh? Oh well, after 20 years of marriage we're both fine with that...I'd rather spend money on something for the house instead of giving eachother gifts. I have to work on Valentine's Day and on Monday, so Monday night we're planning on going out to our favorite Italian restaurant, Ippolito's after work. ~Lisa

I like to buy cologne, but DH never wears it. I bought him some Boucheron years ago and I think it's still 3/4 full! ~Lisa

I just wrote "I heart you" in the snow so when he gets home in the morning, he sees it. I guess that's what he's getting! lol

Honestly plain and simple just being in love and being together is the best gift of all. Happy early valentines day to all and your love ones. Peace. Catherine

My husband wanted a Framing Nail Gun. Not sure what it does but I went and got him one. (Nothing says I Love you like a Framing Gun!?) lol. He is doing some work down cellar and keeps mumbling he needs one so that is what he got.

Tomorrow I have a bunch of heart shaped cut outs and stickers I am going to plaster all over his desk and the livingroom and kitchen. I am going to make heart shaped muffins for breakfast and we will have Prime Rib for supper. I never do the cut out thing usually just give him a card and his gift so I hope he gets a kick out of it. We have been together 14 years, so I thought a little something different would be fun. He will probably just laugh and roll his eyes at me lol.

I bought him a New Chainsaw he wanted, (not really for valentines day but because he has been wanting a new one and Sears had them at a good price when we were there today)and for me... well I am not a valentines person, I think it is crazy myself. I always make it a point to tell him I want NOTHING! I would rather get a gift because he wants to buy me something not because society says he is supposed to on a certain day.

But I am Happy that this day each year makes others happy, I just dont get it.

It is also our anniversary (#23). We usually do not exchange big gifts, but the food processor I gave him for our wedding just died and he is very upset about it. He loves to cook. Lucky me and the kids!!!!! So Kohl's has them on sale and I have a 30% off coupon, and if I buy it today I will get $10 Kohl's cash for every $50 I spend. We just looked at them the other day and I know the one he wants. They are pretty expensive but I am sure I will not be able to ever get a better deal.
In addition, the kids and I are going to pick up the pinecones in the yard today. There are so many this year, and it is a job he hates, so I know he will apreciate that. And I am cooking one of his fav dinners today. So when he gets home from work, he should be pretty pleased.

This is the first year I've given David something big. I bought him a 14K cross and chain; he has no idea what I paid for it. I had given him a cheap cross/chain when he quit drinking on April 16, 2008. He has worn it every day since, and it's changing color! LOL! On Friday we got results back concerning pollups on his liver--they are NOT cancerous. Hence, a new golden cross for crossing another hurdle and for hope for the future. I'm corny, but it's from the heart.

We just went to dinner at a Chinese Buffet and I got DH a card, one from the cat, a razor and white chocolate (he's allergic to chocolate). He got me 2 cards. I told him not to buy me flowers on Valentine's Day since they're too expensive. I'd rather have him bring them home to me on the spur of the moment; means more to me.
