It is a very heartwarming story, and the dog most definitely knew what he was doing by keeping her warm. I am at a loss though how a three year old can be unsupervised enough to wander off in the woods.

The Aunt said they were sure she went after the dog on the HLN piece. I agree with you. If she was being properly supervised they would have noticed in time to still see her.

Anna dear what a wonderful story and it only proves to me more and more just how wonderful our pets especially dogs can do for us totally amazing. I am so happy to hear that there was a animal there to protect her from freezing to death. As a tragic ending could have very well happened. Peace. Catherine

What kind of dessert was she lost in? I'd go for pie myself...I think ice cream would be too cold.
