I just saw Kate on Jimmy Kimmel. I HATE her hair. I didn't recognizer her-her voice was the same but she could have been another person. So all that dancing time won't interfer with her kids?-yea, right! lol

Kate Gosselin? You're kidding? Just when I thought she was out of the spotlight, here she is again. Honestly, I didn't realize that she was a star.

Kate Gosselin? I'm appalled..She needs to be at home with her kids trying to be a mom at a time her "kids" family has fallen apart. That's all her children need is a mom off again for a significant amount of time, at the dance studio practicing. Her priorities are in the wrong place. How sad..Fame has ruined that family

Maybe the kids will get to spend some time with their dad.
They need time away from the Queen Mom.
I think he has been overlooked and talked badly about just a little too much.
She was such a 'witch' to him and when he "let loose" he was blamed a lot more than she was. What did she expect??? I do know that he's not perfect either but I also think it was all more her fault.

I don't watch Dancing with the Stars.

A couple of the entertainmnet outlets were reporting that Kate had arranged with DWTS producers to rehearse mostly in PN - either on her property or close by. Just passing the info along .I believe all 8 children are of school age now so * maybe* she's doing what millions of us have done - working around our kids'schedules.

I heard today that Kate plans on building a studio in her home, and practicing during the day while her children are at school. Hmmmm...are all her children school age? I never watched their show, so I have no idea.

Yes, I had heard that too. However, I think most of these contestants work at least 8 hours a days on it. And most of us aren't single parents of that many small children! It just seems more like Kate TV time to me. I hope she goes in the first few weeks. I'm so sick of all that Gosselin drama. Plus, wasn't she a nurse? Maybe she should go back to nursing, tha'ts a very admirable profession and would keep her HOME more with the kids. She always says she does everything for the kids-how does Dancing with the Stars actually benefit the kids? Wouldn't being a girl scout leader with her girls be more beneficial than her dancing on tv and flying back and forth for the live shows? Just mho.

I don't know. I have friends that are nurses and most work 12 hour days and rarely work less than 4 days a week. I suppose there's probably places that would hire part-time though.

But at least a nurse is doing something admirable-maybe even saving lives everyday. Not jetting off to go dance on tv saying how it's for her kids! lol

But it won't pay enough for spa time, beauty treatments, hair extensions, designer clothes and fabulous trips. She is really lusting after fame and fortune, and John is lusting after fame, fortune, and trashy women. I am afraid we are going to be seeing those kids on Celebrity Rehab in the future.

BUT, a nursing position will not provide the spotlight that she desperately needs./craves. I think the main motivation to do this is to get the exposure guaranteed, which will lead to the next high profile job. A talk show, perhaps?

I thought a talk show was already in the works. I agree with the comment about her hair....I don't like it on her at all! But if she likes it, that's all that matters.

I don't know what her motivation is, but I hope she does well as long as she is making the effort!

Motivation = $$$

Contestants are paid to be on the show..at least some are paid huge, huge salaries. Shawn Johnson was paid like 200k-300k total at least, for making it to the finals...just to be on the show, to join it, she was paid 125K. her contract was public record, I think, because she was a minor and a judge had to approve it. Even Paul McC's ex wife made over 200K from DWTS according to her divorce documents.

Not saying Kate G or others will get that kind of $$ but even if they 'only' got a few thousand
for each show, that's still a lot of money

Well, I won't vote for Kate. I'm sick to death of her, and I think that this is just a shameless attempt on her part to drag out her *fame*. I'm excited to see Lysacek on a wood floor rather than on the ice.

Me either. I will be interested to see what Lysacek can do too. We've already had Apollo and Kristi. We'll have to see how he does!

eh - I think a lot of the things they got were 'gifts' aka free advertising, so I'm not so sure they paid for all of the things they have/had.

I think money changes people - plain and simple...usually for the worse. Possibly they thought it would be just what they needed to fund college and help them acquire the things they wanted for their children. Look where it got them...sad.

I heard on the radio today that Kate's partner feels it's going to be difficult. She doesn't have dancing experience and will require a lot of practice. His one point, however, is that she's a clean slate and won't be set in her ideas about dancing. Time will tell.
