Anyone own a PT Cruiser

I am looking to get a new car (it will be used but new to me) and I found a reasonably priced PT cruiser, I am going to go see it and test drive it tonight, but before I do, I was wondering if anyone has one and what do you like / dislike about it?

TIA

My mom has one and i have driven it for a week or so occasionally in the past. Hers is a convertible and the trunk is laughable, not much space and awkward to put things in because you have to slide them in horizontally. I found the back seat hard to maneuver in and out of when we had others with us.

It's a cute car and she likes it. I wouldn't have one myself. Also, she had to replace a tire once and it was a special order and expensive.

My daughter has one and she loves it. Maintenance and upkeep has been very easy - it's three years old. It's a cute car, but I would agree about the small backseats. Additionally, I drove it on a trip 8 hours one time and thought my legs were going to kill me. On hers at least, the sides of the seats curve up a touch. You barely notice it on regular drives, but while driving long distances, the curves tend to cut into the sides of your legs. There's no way I could own one, but again, she adores it. Hope this helps!

Oh, and she gets decent gas mileage as well - about 30 mpg - much better than my minivan!

My daughter's friend has one and everyone always complains about the backseat, no one wants to ride back there, apparantly it's really uncomfortable. I would never want to own one, I think they are really ugly!

Add me to the "I think they look ugly" list. I've also been stuck renting this or a look-a-like a few time and find the trunk and back seat space is awkard and less than convenient.

My DS had one for a little over a year. We never had to replace a tire or anything and had no problems. It is a safe car. He fell asleep at the wheel and rolled the car and walked away with just a broken arm.

If you're wanting something with a similar look, try the Chevrolet HHR. We looked at one and would have bought it if we didn't have two teens with backpacks and band instrument cases to haul around. There was plenty of room but not enough for our specific needs.

We got one in Hawaii last summer as a rental and I could not stand it. There was no front passenger legroom and as a passenger I felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride when I was holding the bar in the front. It was not comfortable and I felt like it had no get up and go power. I also just do not like the way that they look either.

Thanks for everyone's responses I did end up getting an 08, the dealer showed me a few cars and out of all of them, I liked the way this one handled the best. I agree the storage space is small, but the back seats fold down if I need extra space.

My mom had one that she ended up passing down to my sister. Mom LOVED that car and had no problems with it.
