That would be nice, but whether they do or not, I think the fact that we have ready access to 'local' oil and gas are a buffer against worldwide crises. It takes time to develop those sources, and it is critical to gain ready access sooner rather than later. Somebody refresh my memory - why did Bush not open those areas up? Does it require congressional approval? And if so, is this congress going to do it for Obama when they wouldn't for Bush? Either way, it's a great first step. ANWR, here we come! |

to stay on topic, I don't think that the prices will go down for awhile -- because it will take lots of time and lots of $$ to stabilize our own resources and shift from one source to the other. Drilling, though, is a much better solution than his earlier proposal -- windmills ... we aren't Dutch. *ugh* |
