A friend at work has bed bugs at her home and is very distressed about it (Obviously! ) They have tried to get rid of them and have not been successful. Anyone have any experience with this? She is planning on a treatment that puts a huge tent over the entire house and costs $6000. Wow! I wondered if homeowner's insurance would help out with this. Anyhow, I would appreciate any help that anyone might be able to give. TIA

Be careful - she could be bringing them into the work place -- there is a family that is fighting them at our school -- for 6 months and they keep resurfacing

I would think an exterminator could get rid of them. Years ago neighbors had bed bugs and that's how they got rid of them. Exterminators went in and sprayed the whole house. But there was no tent involved.

A friend of mine just went through this. Apparently her father brought them into the house after staying at a hotel in Baltimore.

The exterminators they had used some sort of heat based method. Then they brought a DOG in that could tell if the bugs were still in the house. I don't know how much it cost but I know it took two treatments.

Horrible bugs, the bites look very uncomfortable.
