This year, I am working on my daughter's spring banquet high school band video. I am organizing all the years photos and selecting music that will accompany the pictures(a videoographer is actually putting it together) One song I thought would be a good selection is "Don't Rain on My Parade" (Glee version). During the 4th of July parade last year, it did rain while our band was marching, so I thought that would be a really good song choice during that segment of video. My daughter is helping me with this project, and she is second guessing that song choice. She is a huge Glee fan, but I think she thinks the song is geeky, and somehow, this will all reflect on her. Oh please.

So, what do you all think?

I searched for the song to listen, and I do like it. I should mention that I have numerous songs for the video which sums up the whole year. It's just the one part of the video showing them marching in a parade while it's lightly raining. That's the section where I wanted "Don't Rain on my Parade" (and Glee just happens to be very popular right now).

Have you asked your daughter what she would choose instead?

Although I believe as a parent we are there to guide them to make the right choices there are times when we need to loosen the reins. If we want our kids to lead the way then we need to trust and respect some of their choices.
