Hummingbird webcam

I guess this post is especially for Virgo10. It's a livecam of a hummingbird nest. The birds, I've been told, do not migrate .... so may be new to Virgo10. MamaBird was just there - saw her fly in and take a protective seat. Kinda sweet.

Thanks. It's still dark where the camera is but I'll check it out in a few hours.

I just got through watching another hummingbird cam. The 2 babies finally took off the other day. The Mama hummingbird had built the nest on top of some wind chimes! It's really hard to wrap your brain around just how tiny these birds are.

I love this! I have only seen the mama. Can't wait to see the babies. I try to imagine how small they must be.

Update............Just saw the two babies. How precious. Anyone know what the nest is made out of?

So glad someone besides me thinks this is precious. It's hard for me to grasp, but this nest is only the size of a golf ball. The webcam must be close. Apparently Phoebe has returned to her nest for the last couple years, atleast.

Crittles, from a conversation I read while waiting for Mama Phoebe to come home, this nest is made from spiderweb silk and grows with the babies.

Virgo, I'm not sure if you caught it anywhere, but the webcam is in SoCal, so we're a few hours behind you daylightwise. Hope you do get a chance before too long.
