I am going to throw my own birthday party. I do not want to have it at my house, and I do not want a Barbecue. Restaurant seems pricey. Anyone have ideas on unique birthday party ideas? This will be my very first birthday party ever.

I have a friend who always celebrates her birthday by asking friends to join her for dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. It's fun. Of course, you have to have a Chinese restaurant that does dim sum. Dim sum is usually pretty inexpensive. I think we usually spend less than $12/person.

How about a potluck picnic with no bbq?
Or a tea party at a tea house?
Is there a fair or carnival or amusement park in your town?
You could rent a community center or church center and have a potluck or just cake and ice cream and music.
You could have a martini party (or cosmos or whatever).
You could get a manicurist or two to give everyone a mani.
You could take a tour of a cookie or cheese or whatever factory or go on a wine tasting tour or brewery tour.
You could all go to a local performance.
That's all I can think of on the spur of the moment.
