I couldn't get the video to play, but yes, that's very disgusting. I have wondered who would buy used underwear at a thrift store, as I have seen them before..

On this topic, does anyone else think that underwear are grossly overpriced? I'm referring to the regular packaged Hanes-type underwear. I think a package runs around $8-9 for just six of them.

Crittles, it wasn't a thrift store. It was department stores and places like Victoria's Secret. Underwear that has been returned and is obviously used is retagged and sold. Really gross. I would never wear anything that I haven't washed first, especially underwear.

OTOH, I like pretty, expensive undies. I love the Hanky Panky panties, they run about $18 a pair.

Just google Today Show used underwear and you can find a link you can go to. The stores are WalMart, Marshall's, Victoria's Secret, Macy's, & Bloomingdales to name the ones I remember off the top of my head.

I only read the post, I didn't click.

I think stores (employees) are too fast to give in. People buy things to wear one time, or get tired of it and return. They pitch a fit if the store doesn't take it back and this causes the employees to take the item back.

I worked with a woman whose daughter came bouncing in one day in a beautiful dress / complete outfit and her mother wasn't pleased, knowing the 19 year old didn't have that kind of money. When she asked her where she got the money, the girl proudly pulled the tag down from the sleeve and told her she was going to return it after she wore it to an event. Her mother was embarrassed in front of many other employees and nicely let the girl have it verbally.

I think it was just the one time the girl showed her mother, I think it had been going on prior to this incident. It has made me wonder from time to time when I shop if what I am buying has been used. This goes along with our society degrading into justifying everything and not doing the honest, right thing.

I, too, buy undies in prepackaged plastic.

Blech! I hope it was worth it to those stores to have their reputations dragged into the mud.

It is very nasty, but it won't stop me from buying the underwear I like. It all comes out in the wash. I hope I didn't get any, but at least I washed them. lol

Yep, DD worked at Victoria's Secret for about a week when she was in high school, but quit because of their return policy of accepting used underwear and re-selling it
