Looking for Feedback on New Workout Options

I have been basically alternating between the same two Pilates workouts for the last two years. I use 5 lb weights and 5 lb ankle weights and would like to find something different to challenge me and change things up a little. Please tell me what workouts you use and what DVDs. I am looking for something that is not too much longer than half an hour and that is at least intermediate level.
Thanks!

I just starting doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. There are three levels and it takes about 30 minutes a day. I like that it is quick, but I worry that it is not enough, although it is good workout! I did P90X before that. I highly recommend P90X, if you really want to challenge yourself. It is time consuming, six days a week for at least one hour.

P90X is great, though it is time consuming. I switched over to Insanity, just started my 2nd month, and I've learned it's called Insanity for a reason! In June a new beachbody workout with Chalean Johnson is going to be released called TurboFire. It's supposed to be a cross between Turbo jam/Insanity/P90X. HTH

I've heard other good things about P90X but I just don't have the hour a day to do it. I have so much to do before work and after work I have limited time before going to sleep. I want something intense that is about half an hour.
I will check out the beachbody workout with Chalean Johnson.

Tammy how do you like the Jillian 30 day shred?

I like 30 day shred. I do get in a great workout, it just seems strange for me to be done with my exercise in under 30 minutes. Although, I have been doing Ab Ripper X on the same days that I do Shred, so that increases it to about 40 minutes. Shred is a good mix, some of the exercises are very easy for me, while others are harder. I am doing Shred three days a week and running 3.5 to 5 miles two days a week. I have already heard the buzz about the new chalean dvd, I am hoping it won't be over the top expensive. Anna...I think Shred sounds perfect for what it is you are looking for. I go mine off Amazon for $8!

Wink

Anna sweetie in addition to walking around the track 2 times a day which is 2 miles I also walk up one staircase and back down 16 times a day. Each time doing it 8 times in the morning and 8 times at night, at first I read about it in a health magazine and thought this is easy, however the first couple of times it was hard now after about almost 2 years of doing it , its so easy and the article said it was excellent for losing weight and for exercise and for your heart rate. Good luck sweetie more power to all here because any form of exercise is always good for us and for our health and weight management and our hearts. Peace to all. Catheirne

Tammy, don't you just love Ab Ripper X?!?! I don't think any other ab workout can match it. The one with Insanity isn't too bad, but not even close to that darn Ab Ripper! 349 moves!!!!
Have you ever gone to myfitnesspal online? There are ton of people doing the Shred, plus it has places for you to track your food and excerise.

When I first started Ab Ripper X....I loved it (but hated it ). As time has passed, I have come to realize that it does indeed kick butt! I started out doing 10 of each exercise, but within a few weeks I was up to 25. I have noticed a huge difference in my core. Its much stronger. My upper abs are tight, but I still need to work on those lower abs. I think after you carry two nine pound babies and have C-sections, your lower abs are difficult to tighten! I will check out the website you mentioned. You can never have too much information when it comes to exercise and health!

I can't make myself workout at home, as there is always something else to do. I have to go to the gym. I can't get the "real" workout I need at home anyway, as I use all of the weight machines and the cardio machines at the gym. I spend about an hour on the weight machine and cardio days, and about 40 minutes every other day for just cardio. Sure makes a huge difference in how I look and feel.
