Help.........

I'm looking for ideas on a 50's party, such as food , music, decorations, etc.

Also, does anyone know where I could find the cups that root beer floats would be served in, but, in plastic......???

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

The cups can be found at Target (I saw some yesterday). Music: 50's CD's can be bought for cheap and have a good assortment on "best of" discs. Dolllar store might also have the cups.

It's yard sale season so you might be able to find some records for cheap to use for wall art

Where did you see them in Target??? I looked in the usual cup/plate section. Also, do you remember if they were the Dixie cups?? I know Dixie makes/made them, but, I can't find them ANYWHERE!!

Thanks so much for the help.

AIA---I've got to get ready for work, but I will post some later today.
We did a 50s bash of sorts for my mom and my parents.
What is the party for?

I found the plastic cups in the seasonal aisle with bbq stuff and plastic margarita glasses. I don't think they were Dixie but I didn't check the tag on the bottom of the glass

colors: black, white and hot pink (black/white checkerboard)
Lots of vinyl records (either the real thing picked up cheaply at garage sales/thrift stores)
You can also find the float glasses at garage sales/thrift stores.
Poodle skirts
leather jackets
ELVIS!
saddle shoes
letterman sweaters
pegged blue jeans
would be fantastic if you could rent a juke box.
Barbie

We did a 1950s party for Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary---in lieu(sp) of gifts we asked that everyone bring a roll of pennies (50 cents). The money could then be donated to the charity of their choice. (in their case it was the local library).

If you have a Party City, they might have party items with your theme.

Have fun.
