Tragic, horrible weekend for many of my friends....

Many of my friends in Arkansas and Texas lost friends and/or family members in the flooding that swept through Albert Pike campground. The Jez family were camping. Their party consisted of dad, mom, toddler and mother-in-law. Dad is still alive, but injured; Mom and Mother-in-law's bodies have been found, and if the toddler has been found it has not been confirmed.
It is now confirmed that they found the 3 y/o Jez child

Many others lost their lives, lost loved ones and some lost their property. Material things can be replaced...but oh the loss of life!

The plane crash, while not connected to the flooding happened roughly in the same vicinity. 4 people were killed. They were prominent business owners---thus lots of people knew them.

I can remember camping in the same area when I was much younger! I just find it a reminder that life is so precious, and at any given moment---you could be gone! Any time we camped there; it could have been us......

so sad....

That is a tragedy! The water came up unimaginably fast, they said on the news it came up 20 ft in one hour, I don't know if that is correct. I've camped at Albert's Pike quite a few times and it's a beautiful place. UGH!

I was reading and seeing this on the news all weekend. I am so sorry to the families for their losses. It's a horrendous tragedy.

I've been following both these stories- the high waters and flooding were terrible.

I'm so sorry for all these families.

This story is very tragic. These poor people were on a leisurely camping trip when the unforeseen came upon them, and no one would ever dream that anything like this could ever happen, as it probably has never happened before. Life is definitely so precious.
