Puddle drapes?

What do you think about the decorating style of puddling drapes on the floor?

I could never figure out why anyone would have them. We were taught to get the right length drapes and to never have them drag on the floor.

I had to google images to see what you were talking about, although I envisioned it right. I think they can look elegant in a large room with wood floors, and maybe just a one inch puddle. I saw a pic of a 6-8 inch puddle, and it looked horrible; like it wasn't measured right and this is what we ended up with. If done right, can look very elegant. Are you considering this for your living room?

I am laughing just thinking about the effect in my house. I have two very long haired cats, and despite quite a devotion to my Dyson vacuum, I am picturing my puddles marinating in cat hair. Not very elegant. I have never cared for drapes, period. I have all valances and blinds in my home.

Wink

Honestly I do not like them but again its all about your personal choice of the decorating style of your home. Peace to all. Catherine

Yep, me, too. Not a curtain or drape in my entire house

I love, love, love the clean look of my blinds. Had them all custom made and get loads of compliments on them.

Puddle drapes seem to go in and out of fashion, but they never really catch on. I think they look silly and are terribly impractical. Besides the cats laying on them and shedding hair, I can see myself getting the puddles caught in the vacuum cleaner and fighting with them to come loose.

The first time I saw one, my first thought was, someone forgot to get the measurements. Of course I found out later it was a style choice. Clearly I am not a fan of this style.
