| Anyone using Virgin Mobile pre-paid $25 plan?
I am looking into this plan for DD who is off to college soon. She currently has a Tracfone which has become insufficient for her needs. (Could have something to do with the boyfriend, and I'm sure that when they are 3.5 hours apart this fall the problem will become worse) It comes with Sprint service. There is supposedly very good coverage in the area she is going, while only fair to good around here. The price of $25 for unlimited messaging, email and data, with 300 minutes for talking seems very good. Looking to hear first hand experiences with the plan and service. TIA.

This plan actually is pay as you go billing, too. So far I have not come across anyone who does this plan.Makes me a little leary. I guess as it is pay as you go- I will go ahead and have her try it. One downside is the phones they offer a a little pricy, and she does need a new phone.

We use PagePlus, which operates off of Verizon's towers. The T-Mobile plan does sound like a great deal. With PagePlus, I added an $80 card, which bought me 2,000 minutes and kept the phone active for four months. Calls deduct $.04 per minute and texts are $.08/each. Any balance you have rolls over as long as you add time before the 4 months is up. They have PowerText plans that run $10.95 for 2000 texts and $19.95 for unlimited texting (both within a 30 day period - the 2000 texts don't roll over). We purchased used, like-new Verizon smart phones via eBay to use with PagePlus. You can use any CDMA phone except Blackberries and pre-paid Verizon handsets. Most Verizon phones work without any modifications. Other carrier's CDMA phones work with some modifications. |
