I use the kindle app on my iphone. I like it because it's free LOL

I'm not ready to go to a full on reader only device until the price of the e books goes down. Now, I can buy a "real" book much cheaper than an ebook (I shop Costco for them). Plus, I like the ability to lend books out to family and friends, take them to the pool (where I don't want my phone or kindle to get wet by a kid jumping in) and I like to resell the books once I am done. So far, I haven't seen where you can pass the book to someone else once you are done. So...I get the freebies.

That said, if I WERE to buy an ereader, I would probably get something that did more than just read ebooks (like an Ipad). Devices that only do one thing aren't usually worth it to me.

I do have a friend who has the kindle and loves hit. He had the nook first and didn't like it at all.

Not sure if any of that was helpful

I have a kindle. I love that I can get my books quickly and that they are easy to store. The downside is that you have to buy the books from amazon for the kindle. Late last fall, amazon and different publishers had a small battle over the price for the ebooks. IMO, amazon is being forced to charge more for their ebooks than other companies. It is higher that the price of paperbooks for new releases which isn't fair since they don't have to pay for the paper or binding.
Nook has been upgraded lately, but I don't know what it is like.

I got one for my two sons. They both love them. Total thumbs up.

I don't like that I can't give them particular reading material. So, I can't guide them to read things I think they would benefit from reading. But, I can give them gift certificates and ask them to use it to get the book or newspaper I want them to get.

I have so much to read that I didn't think I would use it, but they love it so much I might get one for me now.

I have a Sony Reader, similar to Kindle. I like that now I can check out ebooks from the library....but you only get them for 14 days and they are 'returned'--no fees, but I had one returned before I got to the end (james patterson mystery!)

It is also dark...I would love a light on it....it is tough to read in the sun. I would prefer 'old fashioned' paperbacks for by the pool or on vaca!
