I got stuck working late yesterday and didn't feel like cooking so we went to Applebees. There was this older couple who walked in before us and was seated. I had commented to my boyfriend of how cute they looked together, the man was holding his wife's hand then he pulled her chair out. It was just so cute to watch them two, you could tell that they really loved each other. We were seated away from them but in view of them. I don't know why but for some odd reason something made me keep looking over at them. Once our food came, i didn't look over as much then all of a sudden we heard a thud. Apparently from what I was told by a couple who was sitting across from them, the man grabbed his chest, started choking and fell forward. They had people surrounding him in a matter of min and the first aid was there and they were clearing everyone from that area and seating them near where we were. From where we were we could see them doing CPR and then they brought in the poratable defibulator and started using that. During all of this his poor wife was standing there begging them to let her hold his hand and telling him not to go. As they were taking him out of the restraunt, I heard the paramedic tell one of the others that he had no pulse The poor woman just kept saying "Please don't leave me, don't go without me" I don't know these people, but I just can't get the images of what I saw out of my head, if you can please send some prayers and good thoughts for this woman who I am guessing lost her husband / best friend and soul mate last night.

Oh my, what a sad story. I hope the elder gentleman didn't die, but your story is so heart-breaking. Would have wanted to help, but wouldn't know what to do.

It doesn't sound good. However, what a wonderful last few moments together they had. And, she was able to see how much everyone around tried to help. I hope those memories stay with his wife. When I go, I hope am with someone I love.

That's terrible I hope he makes it so they can spend more time together. Sigh...it seems like no amount of time is ever enough.
