Red face Part 2 of building a mosque near ground zero

I just wanted to add but then saw that the thread was closed. First to Wildwood I dearly know that the mosque is not being built right exactly on the same ground where the twin towers once stood, however still, 2 blocks is still too close, again for any religion 2 blocks is still too close. Also when I mentioned fallen hero's I was referring to the number one New York City's Firemen who risked and did lose their lives that day to save others, so first to them to me yes they are fallen hero's. Now you may choose to differ with me and say that others were not fallen hero's they were just there when it happened okay perhaps, but guaranteed there were people who risked and lost their lives to save others to get out of those buildings before they came down, and by doing so to me they are hero's. To Marilyn I love how you ended the thread I have learned this must be a way to convey your point without being rude, so thanks and peace to all and I sincerely hope we all find a solution for this problem because all it truly is doing is causing more trouble. Peace. Catherine

As it has been professed time and time and time and time again, we all know we don't need more trouble.

Thanks Cathy for adding a Part 2 as I'd like to reply to some of the posts towards the end of the thread that was closed.

Much of this information is coming from the imams "own words". There are plenty of audio clips on the internet of this "man of peace" saying these Anti-American sentiments..look it up. I'm not going to argue with someone who is so naive as to not even try to see if any of these statements are true. I don't expect you to believe my words...look it up. By the way, the nearby Christian church that was damaged when the Muslim terrorists attacked innocent American men, women, and children at a workplace on 9-11 is still damaged. I would hope you who are so supportive of this Muslim place of worship might lead the charge to help raise donations for that place of worship to be repaired. ~Lisa

I agree with everyone that no Mosque should be built anywhere near Ground Zero. I do not understand why the Mayor supports building the Mosque and not rebuilding a church that has a long history.

Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church traces its roots back to 1916, when it was founded by Greek immigrants. Services began at the current site in 1922, though the building was constructed in the early nineteenth century. Measuring 22ft. wide, 56ft. long and 35ft. tall, the church was bound on three sides by a parking lot. Saint Nicholas, known in the West as Santa Claus, is the patron saint of sailors, bankers, and bakers. He is revered for feeding the hungry and clothing needy children.
