I am going to Metairie for work and when I google mapped it I found out that Cafe Du Mond is about 13 minutes away. Is there some type of transportation to get me there? Or is there just as good of beneighs in Metairie?

What should I go see? I will only have a few hours for two days to sightsee and I have never been to The Big Easy before.

I don't know if the buses run there or not, but you could probably google and find out. U really need to go downtown! I take the Ferry when I go, but you would have to get to the ferry first...lol When r u coming?

You HAVE to go to Cafe du Monde, you just HAVE to!!! The ambiance alone is worth the trip. When dh and I went, I could have sat there all day......eating beignets and drinking cafe au lait of course!!!!

I was just at Cafe Du Monde on Wednesday morning eating beignets and drinking cafe au lait with my bosses before a day of meetings!

There are two Cafes Du Monde. One in the Quarter and one on Veterans Blvd (in Metairie). We went to the one on Veterans and it was just as good as the one in the Quarter...minus the ambience, of course.

oh, you have to go to the one downtown in the French Quarter. You can walk around after and see soooo much more, too! There are actually a bunch of them, they have them in the malls, too.....but it's not the same(food is, but the mood is not!)
