donating eye drops?

my Fil passed away 3 weeks ago and he has several unopened containers of rx eye drops- does anyone know if there is a place I can donate them?

Call your pharmacist. State laws very. You might be able to donate them to another country as well.

I was hoping somewhere here could give me specific information where I could send them out of country. Several years ago a MCer used to travel out of country and collected medical supplies from MC

You might try calling your doctor's office. My mom's doctor gives them to "Doctors Without Borders."

(It's illegal to give them to someone who isn't a doctor or doesn't have a prescription for the medication. At least in my state it is.)

Great idea, I have Dr's appt 9/30 so I'll bring drops in and ask her then.

There are also certain days of the year that pharmacies will take back prescriptions to properly dispose of opened or expired ones as well as donate them to the proper people. This was all over the news here. Might want to take a look too.

Yeah, I think it was a national thing last Saturday. Here you dropped them off at the police department.
