I do the same so many of my items are in my parents home and my cousin Janets home because we have the same taste. The rest is almost always donated either to Goodwill or The Vincent De Paul Society or plain just put on the curb, where it does not last long for sure lol. Peace. Catherine

I take small things to work - we have an area where people leave stuff they don't want. So, it kinda works out as a swap. I give books to our library and clothing to Big Brother Big Sister. If I've done a major decluttering, I usually just have a free yard "sale."

How does a swap group work, by the way? Do you just meet somewhere and bring all the stuff you don't want and trade it for stuff other people brought? Is there a theme -- for instance clothing, or books, or something else? There is a swap-like event that I like. It's held once a year in a very affluent town near me. It's fantastic, you bring all your needlework stuff you don't use anymore and take whatever you want. They have so much stuff they encourage you to take more, more, more. I've picked up some really cool stuff. I wish there was a plant swap! (Although I'd find it hard to let go of my "babies", LOL!)

All your questions answered here: FAQ's,Rules Go to "group rules", then ""Rules of the Road" HTH I organized a local plant swap several years ago. We did it for 3 years. Also, I've "swapped" some seedlings and cuttings through the swap group. Some people list seeds also. |
