Prize ideas

Hi all.
We are having a class reunion, and I am on the prize committee. We have some prizes, gift certs, etc, and I need some ideas for categories, such as the "person who has traveled the farthest" to get to the reunion, etc....Any ideas?
Unfortunately I'm not very creative....
Thanks!

I was the one for my class reunion too... I had Award Cards printed on card stock all ready to just write in the name so we did the presentation about 1/2 way though the night. I made up funny ones and tried to keep it humorous instead of embarrassing. Everyone had such a great time.

Here's some and the prize I awarded after everyone cast ballots:

The “Eager Beaver” Award

Presented in recognition of the Classmate
who was so anxious to see all the rest of us they turned in their registration and monies first. A+ and move to the head of the line for being so
enthusiastic about tonight!

Awarded a FIRST PLACE RIBBON and given the
dubious honor of leading the troops again in 2016!

The “Procrastinator” Award
You’re as slow as molasses on a cold winter day,
but we’re glad you finally got around to it.
Tonight wouldn’t have been the same without you!

We know you’re just doing the best you can!
That’s what we love best about you!

Ps. Mark the year ______ on your calendar.
Yep, you got plenty of time to plan for our (insert year) Class reunion! We all look forward to seeing there as well.

Awarded a jar of molasses and a ribbon that says
I TRY MY BEST!

The "E.T. Phone Home" Award
Presented in recognition of the Classmate who traveled the farthest to attend the Class of ‘2000 10th Class Reunion.

We’re glad you could make it and cared enough to come.

Awarded a 60 minute phone card

The Agoraphobia Award for the Classmate still living closest to the “old” High School: For classmates still living in the adjacent area, tell us how many miles _______ you live from our old High School.

Awarded a 100 piece puzzle of a Map of the United States so you'll know there are 49 others to choose from!

The Energizer Bunny Award for the Couple who’s been together, (married or otherwise) the longest amount of time. So how long have you been hooked up/shacked up, or considered “we” with your significant other?

Awarded a brand new pack of Energizer Batteries Someone from the crowd heckled "Don't use them up in one night kids!" LOL

The Honeymooners Award will be for the Couple who’ve been courting/dating/married the shortest amount of time. If you’ve been together under 5/10/? years (since our last reunion) please answer this one. How long?

Awarded light up disco glasses for still being in that "You light up my life" stage.

The Lucky Duck Award - Biggest Lottery/Prize Winner this class has produced. What’s the luckiest thing that’s happened to you since graduation? Did you win an all expense paid trip to Hawaii through your work? Did you win a community raffle for a brand new t.v.? Tell us!

Presented in recognition of the Class of 2000 Classmate
whose ability to be the blessed chosen one has the rest of us green with envy.

We applaud your good fortune! But we also ask that if you ever win REALLY big in the lottery that you remember us then also!

Awarded some scratch off Gag Lotto Tickets

~The Almost Famous Award ~
Best Brush with Greatness Story
Were you invited to the White House for a State Dinner? Did you score backstage passes to your favorite concert/performer? Had your picture taken with a movie star or get a book autographed by a famous Author.
What happened?

The card read...
Presented in recognition that you are the _____ High School Class of 2000 Alumni with the “Best Brush with Greatness Story”.

WOW!
We’ll take your word for it this time, but we want pictures and autographs at the
next reunion!

Awarded a Disposable Camera and told next time “PROVE IT”!! LOTS of laughs! Even the runners up got read out loud and marveled at.

The American Idol Award
Who are we going to vote most likely to grab the microphone on “open mike night” at the local Kareoke Bar. Who should we nominate for 15 minutes of fame? Talent or no Talent. Who would we want to see up on stage?

The card read:
Presented in recognition that you are by far the Class of ‘00
Alumni that deserves his/her 15 minutes of fame. We see you as Star material.
We’re still waiting for you to catch your big break. Remember us when you do!

Awarded new luggage tags.

{{Just for fun!}}

The Card read:
Presented in recognition of the Classmate we humorously expected to come to the reunion and tell us a whopper of a good tale.
Bigger than life, a tall tale of the tallest proportions, were it not for the Pinnochio nose giving you away, we’d have never been the wiser!

Thanks for making our reunion so much fun!
Hope to see you at the next one too!

We actually had a TIE on this one... it was hysterical!
Award was one of those paper crowns they give kids at Burger King! LOL

The Card read:
Presented in recognition of the Classmate with the most unusual career or
most interesting work day.

The rest of us have to “work” for a living so we’re just glad at least one of us got a really cool job!

By the way, Is your company hiring? NOT!!

Awarded him an extra PAYDAY.
(a payday candy bar that is!)

The card read:

and failed to share with the rest of us.

Wow! I can't think of anything that would enhance that list. Those are some great ideas.

Thanks ya'll, it was really well received and even a table conversation started as well because people would look over and say "what'd you put on the Columbus question" and suddenly family vacations to Fiji and Peruvian Mission trips were being shared around the table.

Even though it looks crazy the way I posted all that mess up there, the ballot fits landscape wise on one piece of paper (cardstock) and can be folded in the middle like a regular church style bulletin. On the front, High School name, Class of Blah blah blah and then inside when you open it on the left flap "Tell about yourself for these Awards" then on the right side flap "Cast a vote for others on these Awards" then at the bottom they printed their name with instructions to return the ballot by 9:00 to a certain location in the room.
On the back cover we had listed the ENTIRE class (all names) so that helped people remember names/ and see who was missing from that night's reunion.

Our banquet room had 8 topper round tables for our meal seating so we had already printed Ballots and placed 8 pencils at each table in the center by each centerpiece.

The Award cards i.e. This Award presented to Classmate yadda yadda yadda, were about the size of index cards when complete so we fit 4 per page and only had to use 5 pieces of cardstock for printing those. Again, those were just left blank in the center so we could quickly write in the winner's name.

We had stashed the "prize box" under the podium in advance so nobody knew what they were in for when I stepped up on the stage. All I had in my hand were those CONGRATULATIONS cards. Easy peasy!

ps. the only thing I would add is that we had a table that wanted the "Take this job and shove it" Award next time around for the crappiest job but the funny thing was the guy who won our ALL IN A DAY'S Work award that night, He pumps septic tanks for a living everyday...LOL

Looking forward to our next one! ((watching for ideas in this thread too!))
