Trick or Treaters?

I counted 54 but six were doubles (so I counted them twice). We give out regular size (from Costco) along with the packs of cheese n crackers, cookies, peanut butter crackers.
My husband couldn't believe that some kids prefer the non candy. We had about 7 regular size packs of gum too and that went really fast.

My sister in law in Bend OR had over 350 they finally had to turn the light off.

Ours stopped around 8:30. The very first two (our next door neighbor and an adorable Pohcahantas about 3 yrs old) came about 5:30 before it was even dark.

We had adults actually walking around pushing EMPTY strollers carrying pumpkins and asking for candy... They got ONE penny from a jar that we had...
The kids that were older or not dressed up also got ONE penny...
We live in a very small community and we had trick or treating on Saturday night... Well I guess people from the surronding communities got wind of it and headed down.. It was NUTS... My 11 year old was out with her friends and they came back and hour later and said "They are friggin animals..." I guess they were pushing and fighting... Nuts...

I had 11 kids. A woman who came with her 3 kids told me that in the entire apartment complex, only about 7 people including me, were answering their door. I shouldn't complain though cause last year I only had 2.

We had about 125. They started way before dark here, too. We ran out of candy about 8PM, which was perfect. I didn't want any candy left over and about 8PM is when I think they should stop anyway!

Had a total of 9 kids. The first two were at 7:30 and at 7:45 came seven more. After 8pm had no one. I look out a few times and saw no one out there.

When we first moved here we would get around 120 kids. Then the last few years we were lucky to get 60 kids. Costco had a coupon for their full sized candy bars so I got 3 boxes for a total of 90 bars. Then I bought a bag of jr. size candy bars just in case. At 9:00 when I turned out my lights I had one big candy bar and two little ones. I have never come so close to running out of candy. I had two adults come to my door without any kids. I think it was a man and a woman both dressed in little tiny dresses, wigs, and high heals. THey were at least 40 and pretty darn ugly. I was so low on candy at that point I hated giving them anything.

In years past we got less than 20 kids - so about 5 groups of 4. Of those, only about half were in a costume. So, we don't do it anymore. I suspect it will die out before too long.

One year, we had teenagers from the next town over show up a day early, without costumes. When they said, "Trick or treat," I told them, "Halloween is tomorrow." They said, "Oh, we thought your town was tonight. You must have candy by now. Can we have some?" I said, "Sure, when you come back tomorrow." They didn't come back.

Zero here! We live 1,000 ft off the road and in the 9 years we've been here, we haven't had "one". I usually take a bunch of candy and head to my moms in town, where she gets hundreds of kids.

We had about sixty kids, and gave out mini chocolate bars, and glow sticks (both, not either/or). Most of the kids were young enough to not raise eyebrows, but my husband dealt with a few rude teens. I was amazed how many kids said nothing at all - we didn't get much 'trick or treat' here. I was also sort of concerned by the number of kids who were driven over to the neighborhood, but there were so few houses giving out candy, that you couldn't really blame them. We turned off the lights at 8:30, and were mostly out of candy by then.

I am just now coming down from my sugar high lol. Someone remind me next year that when you go through life eating very little sugar a couple of candy bars can either kill you or confine you to the looney bin!

We only had about 30 kids.It started at 4 pm -6 pm and was daylight the whole time.I felt very sorry for the kids. There was harldly anyone giving out candy.I only saw about 2 others on my block alone giving out candy. They had to walk along way just to get to a house that was actually participating.Since there were so few , they all got a big handful of Hersheys Almonds and Reeses cups.
I sure was lucky when I was a kid, every house on the street gave out candy.Rarely ,you would ever come to one that wasn't.

We had maybe 35 kids, which I think is about average for our street. In our community, they have strict hours of trick or treating from 5-7pm. We had our light on until 8pm, as I don't mind late comers. There was one pathetic teenager who really didn't have a costume on; just a little black on his face and a sword. He didn't have a bag for holding candy, and when I asked where his bag was, he said he was "too cool" for a bag and stuffed his candy in his hoodie pocket. Whatever.

We had hundreds... Our neighborhood is packed from dusk until about 9:00. I had about 20 bags of candy, including 2 of the VERY large bags, and we almost ran out. I have some tootsie rolls left and that's about it. It's fun. We sat outside with some friends and handed out candy. I was a bit shocked, though, at the adults that were dressed up and trick-or-treating. We saw about 10 of those. We also had a "tween" walk up talking on her cell phone and just holding out her bag. My friend was giving out the candy and just raised her eyebrows. The girl just looked shocked and kind of shook her bag. My friend said.. "What do you say???" then she finally said Trick or Treat, but talking on the phone the whole time. Ridiculous.

We had 41 Trick or Treaters. We gave out stuffed Frankenstine dolls, packs of stickers, whistles, Transformer plastic cups and plastic plates, Spongebob party kits and sunglasses to all the younger kids. Teenagers got full sized Butterfinger candy bars and mini Snickers and bubble gum.

Kuddos to you for going against the candy route with the youngsters! I have a love/hate relationship with Halloween as I love the originality of dressing up and having fun, but absolutely hate the candy!!!! My daughter babysits for two little ones, and I got them a rubber soccer ball and a rubber baseball instead of candy.
