Honey Baked Hams are yummy! I have a ritual I do every single year. I keep an envelope in my nightstand drawer, my husband calls it 'the vault.' Every week I put at least $2 in there, at least. Sometimes more, but never less than $2, and I keep it to single $1 and quarters if I have them. On December 23, I take the money and spend it at the Honey Baked Ham store. I get a ham, a turkey and then if I have any money left I buy breads, condiments or side dishes. Some years I came away with just a small ham and turkey, last year I got a ham, turkey, rolls, mac and cheese and a container of gourmet mustard.

I have found the past two years they've had really good deals on half hams. In the previous years, the half of ham I bought was around $55 - $65. Last year I had a coupon, I think the ham was $29 or $39, the turkey was $19.99 and side dishes were on sale too. I guess since the economy was struggling maybe they had to run deals so people could afford them.

It's a tradition at my house for me not to cook on Christmas Day. We save the ham and turkey along with assorted breads, deviled eggs I make the day before, and anything that can go in the oven or microwave that I cooked the day before.

They are very good, but......very expensive. I do mean expensive. Sorry I can't quote prices, but you will be amazed. Is your coupon for a free ham? Or is it for $x.xx off? Even with $x.xx off, you will stlil spend a lot.

I think if you are going to do that once in a great while splurge, do it. But be ready to shell out the moola.

Agree with above - very good, very expensive! I've had the spiral hams and the smoked turkey and they're both awesome.

I'll be the odd one. I didn't like the crusty stuff on the ham.
And I agree, they are $$$$$$$

I am just as happy with the (cheaper) Hillshire Farms knockoffs. I've had both and I don't think it's worth the extra $$$. Get two of the cheaper ones, and have plenty left for sandwiches!

sooo delicious and sooo pricey. Spiral hams are good, but hopefully you have a coupon you will use!

Again we are getting a our ham with the bone in it, from a place called the Forest Park Store it is a German butcher shop and deli and they make all their meats there and smoke all their meats. Of course me and my daughters will not be eating , although I did as a child because the original store is still there where I grew up. However for the rest of the family and all our guests who enjoy this meat they will love it and it does cost alot of money for sure.. Catherine

I don't like them at all. They're sweet. Nothing worse than sugar with meat, in my opinion.

I used to love them when I ate meat. And I do like sugar with meat. Think honey on chicken, applesauce with pork roast, grape jelly on burgers (it's good try it), bbq sauce on any meat.

We have a competitor in this area called Heavenly Hams. I'm not sure how widespread they are. I actually like their hams a lot more than Honeybaked. Similar, but the hams themselves are better IMO. And because of the price, I seldom buy either. I really prefer a grocery store spiral ham most of the time. I hear they have good ones at Sam's and Costco for a fraction of the price.

I don't find them any better than the $13.00 ham I baked at home last Sunday, and I agree that I do not like sugar with meet. I do not like jelly on burgers, bbq sauce or honey on any meats, etc. I think those hams are just overpriced marketing dreams.

Well I personally think that Hams like seafood are overpriced when it comes to the holidays. For christmas eve we will have only seafood and some pasta dishes and some salads, the seafood can get very expensive for sure. Blessings in this holiday season. Catherine

I tried one last year for the first time. I thought it was really good, as did DH and all my guests. It is very sweet but delicious and addicting. That ham went very fast. Without a coupon, they are about $10 per pound. I paid about 1/2 of that. We would definitely buy one again, but not at full price.
