Christmas Cards?

I love doing mine! I use Christmas Confetti from the party store and I have special Christmas return labels and of course I buy Christmas stamps too.

I do a religious one and a Santa one depending on who I'm sending it to. I send online ones to my online friends.

I use my leftover Christmas cards that I've received to make Christmas gift bags out of regular sturdy store bags with handles. I leave the card whole so I don't accidentally put it on the bag of the person who gave it to me. I love the way the bags look whether I use glue or tape to make a border.

What do you do about cards? How about your leftovers from previous years.

I am also very card-oriented!

Since we have some Hanukkah-celebrating friends/family, I got some of my cards out late last week, since we're in the middle of Hanukkah right now!

I do the same thing you do with stamps for our Christmas-celebrating friends/family - I usually get religious stamps and winter stamps, too! This year I love the angel stamp, so I am using that style for all the Christmas cards. I also bought a cute snowflake punch, so I have been punching snowflakes into the envelope of each card. I use a green pen for addressing the cards.

As far as what I do with the cards we receive from the previous years, I've made gift tags out of the prettier ones, and this year I'm going to try to decorate a tree from cut outs of previous years' cards. I don't know how it will come out, but I saw someone else's card tree, and it was pretty - they just nestled cut-out images from cards into the branches of a table top tree, and it was impressive!

I also think St Jude's Children's Hospital used to take old Christmas card fronts, but I couldn't find anything pertaining to that on their website recently.

We stopped sending Christmas cards about 20 years ago and give all the money we would have spent to Toys for Tots.

I even got my co-workers to agree to not exchange cards and instead we give a really nice donation every year to the Salvation Army.

Oh, I would be a bit peeved to open a card and have confetti spill out!

I don't send many cards. I just don't have many people to send to.

Anna do you send many cards because we personally send alot from family and friends is a huge list, the because my husband Tommy has his own family business, we know so many people from the business, so we do about 120 cards. I also use take my time and hand print the envelopes with either a red, blue , or green really nice fine marker and I use christmas stickers and seals for envelopes as well. Again I love to send and receive christmas cards so much fun.. Catherine

I was just going to type the same thing. I would definitely not be in the Christmas spirit if I opened a card and confetti spilled out!!!

I don't put that much confetti in just about 6 big ones. They're angels and "Merry Christmas" and stuff and they're pretty cool. I send about 20-30 cards each year and nobody has ever complained about it. I don't put it in my senior citizen Aunts' cards.

Anna I think the confetti idea is cute, just like all the stickers I put on the envelopes and christmas seals, it makes it more fun and festive for sure. My father has one 86 year old sister who lives upstate and she my Aunt Helen loves to get my envelopes. Blessings in this holiday season 2010. Catherine

We send out about 30 and they have to be funny Christmas cards.

I used to use the holiday stamps, but I buy the Breast Cancer stamps now. I do write with a red or green pen.
