What's your favorite Christmas Memory

My favorite Christmas memory was when I was 6. That Christmas Eve I remember coloring lots of pictures for Santa and leaving him my list again (in case he lost the one I gave him at the mall ) and I took an entire package of cookies and put them on a dish and was going to put the whole gallon of milk on the table, when my father told me that all the kids were leaving cookies and milk and if I really wanted Santa to bring me everything I wanted, I should leave him something different and suggested pizza and beer so i agreed and my dad ordered a pizza and we left the pizza and a can of beer for Santa. The next morning everything that was on my list was under the tree and "Santa" left me a letter thanking me for being different LOL

My favorite Christmas memories with my children are from when my son, who is now 18, was 2. I took him and my oldest DD, who was only a few weeks old at the time, to the mall to get their picture with Santa. The line was short and while we were on line I kept asking my son what he was going to tell Santa he wanted, he would tell me all sorts of toys, then a few min later he told me he was hungry and I told him there were only a few people a head of us and after we see Santa, we were going to go get lunch. When it was our turn, my son sat on Santa's lap and when Santa asked what he wanted my son looked at him and said"Food" Santa asked if he wanted any toys and he said "No just food"

Another of my favorites is with my yongest DD, who is now 9. from the age of 2 till about 4 all she wanted was a baby sister (and that was not going to happen) so everytime we went to a store or the mall she had to see Santa and everytime she told him all she wanted for Christmas was a baby sister. During one of the trips, when she was 4, she told Santa "you know all I keep asking for is a baby sister, and every time you tell me you can't do that so this year instead of a baby sister, I want a baby brother" Santa explained to her that he can't bring babies because its cold flying around on the sled and my daughter looked at him and said "Duh Santa, put his coat on and cover him with blankets before you wrap him for me"

Anyone want to share their favorite Christmas memories?

Mine is in the early 1970s I can't remember the year exactly maybe more mid 70s 73 or 74. The whole family was there and many of them are no longer with us. My cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Dad, Mom, brothers and sisters, dear family friends. And believe me it wasn't about the presents. We didn't really make lists. We got things like coats, China place settings, school clothes, maybe one simple toy (like a Radio Shack avocado green AM radio I got that year which was one of my prized possessions and one of my Mom's annoyances because it was up against my ear every where we went). I wish I could go back to one week at Christmas then and one week in summer of 77.

Mine is a Christmas Eve spent with my mom's aunt, uncle, and cousin. They came to our house and we started a tradition of taking a walk that night. It was actually a competition. I went with my great uncle (who jogged every day until he was about 82, so he was fit and active) and my sister went with my cousin. The competition was counting decorated houses. You had to walk past the house for it to count and it had to have the Christmas lights on (a tree inside didn't count - had to be outside). We had a time limit of an hour, so we would synchronize the watches, bundle up, and start speed walking. lol... It was CRAZY! We had to be back at our house before the hour was up and we would see who got the most houses. When we got home, we would drink hot chocolate, the adults would have an adult beverage and we would compare notes. It sounds a little silly, but it is a great memory for me. My great uncle passed away a few years ago and that is something that will stick with me forever about him.

My favorite Christmas memory is when I was young laying under the Christmas tree every night after supper admiring all the light bulbs, each and every decoration, the icicles, the dumb ornaments that were made when we were very young that were chipped in spots with paint falling off ,lol.
I would lay there under the warmth of the tree and stare for hours, then play christmas songs on the organ.I loved that.At night I'd stare at the electric colored candles in the window till I drifted off into a heavenly sleep.
I didn't care much about the presents and never had a list.
I was pretty happy with life in general with my family and friends and didn't think much about toys. The only toy I can ever remember asking for was the Spirograph.
