I got the call last night that I knew I'd be getting but was not quite ready for. My friend's wife called and it looks like there is basically nothing that can be done for my friend Pat, who has throat cancer. They were told that the tumor is almost blocking his carotid (sp?) artery and that explains the blackouts, dizziness and a few of the other things he has been experiencing. They said an option would be putting a stint in, but that is taking a risk at this point. She said that she would like for a few of us to come up to the hospital on Sunday to say goodbye, because since their time is limited they would like to spend whatever time is left alone. If you can please pray for my friend April, his wife, who has to be one of the strongest people I know, and for Pat, that his final days are filled with happiness.
