Yes indeed, we left for a few days after Christmas for 6 days and called the place where we board our shelties and was told Sunshine was in heat and Jax our new addition will be one year this 1/13 we have him became a man lol. Long story short he was all over her and they got stuck several times and the rest is history. Again we will not know for another 2 weeks for a sonogram and yes on this past thrusday we tried to have Jax fixed, however he was so bruised the vets told us from his coming of age, they could not do the job. So we are having him done this thrusday. This will be Sunshine's second litter the first produced 2 puppies only one survived our Sanibel. If she is pregnant this will be her last and we will have her fixed. We of course would love another Sheltie wish I could have a farm full of them, so again time will tell. Edited to Caddylisa you will love this story because I know how much you love animals and love shelties hugs. Catherine

Actually JJ the place I board my shelties they are truly and simply lovely people, not only do I board my shelties there, they also do all their grooming and personal needs as well. They are very responsible, they had no way of knowing that Sunshine was in heat because I did not even know it and then they had no way of knowing that little Jax would become a man overnite so to speak.. Once of course they realized what was going on they called us and seperated them immediately, however they did have to wait until the two were not locked together which happened so quickly. We were thinking of down the road of having Jax and Sanibel go together but since it happened already Jax is done and will be fixed as soon as he is healed, I personally cannot believe the bruising he received but being so young and immature he did go a bit crazy. Also as stated before if she is she will be fixed as we already fixed our other male Simba once he mated with Sunshine which produced the 2 puppies however only one survived. Again only time will tell. The boarding place we have used for 24 years and totally trust the lives and care of our shelties there. Thanks so much. Catherine

Sorry this was not a planned mating, so to speak. Do your shelties have related bloodlines in any way? I hope not. Time will tell.... she may end up not pregnant. Hope it all works out for you.

Crittles your correct it was not planned at all and no they do not have any bloodlines at all. I have all the proper papers where they were all born, Sushine came from Pennyslvania sadly from Lancaster where I have found out is so many puppies mills. While Jax came from Missouri and finally Simba who first mated with her came from Idaho and of course little Sanibel came from New York. So only time will tell. Thanks so much ... Catherine
