Cool How much is gas where you are?

Gas is creeping back up again! I know we typically live in one of the lower cost of living areas, one of the reasons we chose to live here, but gas is almost up to $3.00 a gallon, it's been sitting at $2.99 a gallon for a couple of weeks now, that is for the cheap gas. It cost me $42 to fill my truck today and that won't last a week. Hubby's car doesn't cost quite as much to fill. How much is gas where you live?

In North Alabama the cheapest station around hit $2.99 this week, everywhere else is over $3.00 already.

It varies from $2.99 in Prince George County to $3.17 in Montgomery County near DC. This is in Maryland.

Depends on the area. I've seen from $3.09 to $3.28. If we go across the state line from Maine to New Hampshire it's a little cheaper. Sucks since I have to fill up everyday I work. I use my car and really rack up the miles.

It's the same here. The station I go to has regular sitting at $2.99 for a while now. I am already paying more because my car takes premium. I keep waiting for that regular to go over $3 because I bet once it does it keeps going.

I guess this is one reason that it's good I don't drive. My daughter's boyfriend takes me to the store or I walk. I give him $ or buy them lunch/dinner.

I really have no idea how much gas is in this area.

I have seen $3.07 to $3.14 per gallon in my area. I have heard a projection in the $4 per gallon range this summer. Not looking forward to it.

There was an article on the front page of our paper a couple of weeks ago that was predicting $5 a gallon gas by the end of the summer. Crittles1, I hope the $4 range that you read about is more in line with what we are going to have to deal with, if it has to go that high at all!

Well, since we are all over the country these days, trucking you know, lol I can tell you that gas and fuel are cheaper by far in WV than in Pa. and New York. About .46 a gallon difference. That is a lot!!

I am in PA, about 45 miles northwest of Harrisburg. Gas in my small town is 3.20 and about 3.13 at larger stations out of town, like Hess. Just keeps going up along with everything else. We have a Honda CRV and if it does go up to the $5, we will have to trade it in for something smaller. Here we have to go out of town ,
over a mountain at least 24-45
miles away for stores, doctors, etc. Like the others say, I heard $4 for Spring and summer, and then $5 till the end of the year, and they predict it WON'T go down this time. Heating oil will be close to the same. I just feel so sorry for the Seniors who barely have enough to live on now!

2.99 the last I checked in the St. Louis area. But I haven't been out of the house in a few days because it keeps snowing. I also read that the large gas guzzling vehicle sales crept up last year. So I guess a lot of people don't care what they pay for gas.

Penny, maybe you need to look into a CNG vehicle - I know they are putting in several stations for them in OK! It's $1.39/gallon! Wow! :-)

It is $2.86-2.99 here locally. I've heard the $5 projections, but have heard it will slowly creep up over the next 18 months or so. Yikes. DH and I were looking at electric cars online last night just because of these projections.

Might be something to consider if they ever get any near where I live. The closest stations are in OKC and that is 70 miles away. Especially since hubby and I each drive 50 miles a day roundtrip to go to work, I only work part time though, so I don't have to drive 5 days a week like he does. Would have to figure out if a car payment would outweigh what you would save on gas

Gas is between $3.07 and $3.25 here in Western Oregon.

The word in the news is that it will soon be back to around $5. I think that's a sin. People count on it to get to work. When gas prices go up everyone suffers except the greedy thieves who are racking it in. Record profits for the oil companies while regular working people must decide between gas and heat or gas and food.

As for the electric vehicles the charging stations are free for now but I wouldn't count on them remaining free. I imagine they will put in credit card readers eventually. Or else who is going to pay for the electricity? Taxpayers? So that even those who still use gas are paying for everyone else? And it's not economically wise to buy an electric car. You would have to own it for many years and drive a lot of short distances (using electricity only) to make up for higher vehicle costs, repair costs and replacing the battery charger every so many years.

Where I live the 3 gas stations we have it ranges from $3.00 to $3.03 a gal, thats in St. Stephen , SC... Next "big" town over 16 miles away is Moncks Corner $2.87 to $3.00 ...I work in Goose Creek and I have seen it at $2.88 to $2.91 a gal....then there is N. Charleston running about the same as Goose Creek... Was in Florence sunday and saw it as High as $3.33 a gal... I have to drive almost 70 miles round trip to work and it takes 4 trips to drain my tank and its killing me financially starting to think its time for a small car and get rid of the Escape..
