| My DD entered the Mrs. Virginia Pageant...! SHE WON!!!
My extremely brave daughter has entered herself in the Mrs. Va. pageant!! She is officially "Mrs. Lynchburg" and got her sash that says so! lol She did two pageants as a small child and won both times, but the stress is about more than I can handle!! DH and I both told her to just tell us when it's over!! But, of course we can't do that, so we decided the next best thing would be to split a xanax. JK.. wanna see??? Mrs. Virginia (she is the last one listed)

Oh, she is going to win! She's beautiful. I'm sure beauty runs in the family! Good luck! Please tell us how it goes... And let us know what her experience was like - I hope the whole process is enjoyable -it's fascinating to me how glamorous it looks, but how much stress it must be at the same time. D

Wow, Melissa! She is just stunning - absolutely stunning! I'm clueless about the whole pageant thing. I am not a fan of the whole Toddlers 'n Tiaras thing, but what your daughter is doing is entirely different, and is really impressive! And for crying out loud... she is just gorgeous! Like Devin's mom said... let us know what the experience is like for her! |

Thanks ladies!! You know when she was six and did a small local pageant, she won and had no idea what that even meant when it happened. The poor thing was befuddled. In this pageant there is no talent competition, but at 6 she stood on the edge of the stage and sang "Amazing Grace" accapella and absolutely brought the house down. Well, by the time we got home that night, she had figured out what the "winning" was all about and we had a little prima donna on our hands for a while. Well, at 8 she won the same pageant and again with the little attitude. At this point I started to get a bit concerned about her becoming very self centered. So, I found a little book. I think it was called "Dear Princess". I believe it is a Catholic book, not sure. But I decided that each night we would read a chapter together. I believe that book helped to shape who she is today. It was basically about being a "Princess of the King" and how our lives aren't about us, but others. Putting others first and serving Him. It wasn't a magic bullet so to speak but definitely helped me in reminding her to Whom she belonged and why we are here. She still needs reminding once in a while, but don't we all?? lol Anyway, just thought I'd share that. I will let you all know how it goes!!!!

Much congrats to you and your beautiful daughter, you are dearly blessed and sincerely hope she wins. How lovely for you to say she is beautiful inside and out as a mom to 2 daughters I know the feeling all too well, is it not sad we cannot keep them little girls forever... Keep us posted and well wishes for her. Catherine

It was incredible! This was her first pageant since she was eight.......most of the other contestants, if not all have done pageants before. She rocked the interview and the question they do for the finalists. And she was one of the youngest. I am so proud of her and can't wait for April!! SO FUN!!

Congratulations! You must be very proud of her! My two youngest daughters both entered pageants when they were younger, one was 15, the other was 11 or 12, I am definately not cut out to be a pageant mom. It is just too nerve wracking for me!

It really concerns me that you support such a thing.
