Hi there I can help some as I have a summer home in Connecticut and some family as well who live there all the time. It is a absolutely beautiful state, especially so in the fall. Someday I will live there most of the year to be close to my husbands family and of course enjoy our summer home. I will look up your town, never heard of that town, where is it close to I will try to find out. Good luck and blessings.. Catherine

oh thank you! I think I would like to live in Stamford, New Haven or West Haven if you know about any of those cities! Do you know anything about the schools? My kids currently attend a private Christian school, and I think I want to do the same thing there, but there doesn't seem to be too many choices! I can't afford the 30k a year college prep schools they have. I think we want to rent for a year first to make sure of where we exactly want to live! My email is kgrandsko@hotmail.com if you or any of your family members want to share everything CT with me! I might as well be moving to Siberia, I knbow nothing about that area! All of my family is from the South!

Seymour is about 20 miles south of where I am. I moved up from Long Island in '92. My husband is from Shelton which is near Seymour. We currently live in NW CT and if your husband wouldn't mind the drive, this is the place to be in CT. Small towns, good schools, foliage, dry summers, and country life is where it's at!! I would never move back to LI. You will love CT! I'm not real crazy about the shore towns, too much like LI for me. I would visit and check out all around. Traffic going north and south is not too bad. East and west is another story. I would look for a small town, small schools and class sizes. You get to know your neighbors and love your town.

Well for us our summer home is in Sherman Connecticut in a small community called Candlewood Lake it is sooooo beautiful and will agree Connecticut is a very pretty state and small communities. My husbands brother lives in Southbury Connecticut it is very old with alot of older homes very pretty. Then we have a uncle in Trumbell again very pretty small town. For now Long Island is home it is close to my parents 10 minutes and 45 minutes to my husbands job, his brother who lives in Southbury has a long drive, but he would not trade it and can understand the reasons. Someday I will live there permantely and go back and forth to Florida because I also simply love Sanibel Island it is another home away from home very small and so quiet... Catherine

Sure Joy please ask some more questions, that is what we are here for. Again agreed Connecticut is a beautiful state to live in. However I will always come back to New York and visit all the time, for me at least it is the best state, it is home, where I was born and could never ever leave New York or Long Island forever and not come back. But you will enjoy Connecticut for sure that is a guarantee . Catherine
