But, it takes someone very special to step in and do what the "father" won't do or can't do!

I have never raised teenage boys!
And there are just some questions that mom can't answer.

Thankfully, the dear, sweet, man that I am involved with volunteered to answer those questions. He is downstairs having "the" talk with the oldest.
He is such a wonderful, special, loving, caring man!

(and yes, I suggested strongly that my son talk to his father. Unfortunately, his father has lost all credibility w/ child. The kidlet doesn't get respect from his father--thus the child doesn't respect his father. And that breaks my heart!)

Sounds like you have a wonderful significant other. A keeper for sure.
Too bad biological dad has dropped the ball here. The years do go by quickly and he may not realize the deep regrets he'll have once the boys are grown. Once you lose respect, it's hard to get it back. Does dad live nearby to see his sons at all?
