Oh my goodness, we had a fabulous time at the Greenbrier in WV for this pageant. We didn't get to spend a ton of time with our dd, but had a great time with her friends that came to do her hair a make-up. The Greenbrier is a fantastic place, we had never been to a 5 star resort before and had no idea!! So wonderful that Rachel got to spend 2 whole weeks being spoiled rotten and working hard. She had a great time and made some good friends. Anyway...

Rachel placed in the top 15!!

Not too shabby for a first time contestant!! She was also voted America's Choice along with Mrs. WV. Mrs. Florida is the new Mrs. America. She is a fabulous woman in her 40's.

The pageant will air for Mother's Day. Florence Henderson and her daughter are the hosts. It was neat seeing her. Had lunch with her...........in the same restaurant anyway! lol

Also Jessica Lynch was a judge. What a sweet girl.

Thank you all. DL, you are right, it wasn't about the winning. This was only her second pageant on this level, and she won the first one. Not too bad. lol The interview for the State pageant was much harder and seemed to be taken more seriously and I think that's why she won!! This time she was really disappointed at the questions or lack thereof. She knew then she wouldn't do as well and was ok with that.

She had a ball being spoiled and having the opportunity, but when all was said and done, I think she realized that this (the pageant world) is not the atmosphere she wants to constantly expose herself to. So, I think we are done with pageants!!! Thank you God!!

It is my firm belief that God allowed her to go as far as He wanted her too. So, things worked out perfectly!! She is still Mrs. Virginia and will have many opportunities to serve in that capacity. What an honor.

BTW.....if any of you ever get the chance to check out the Greenbrier, take it!! lol
