I did and have watched it a few times. This show is crazy and not realistic at least to me. First off to spend 60 hours a week to prepare for a shopping trip seems very extreme to me. NOw do not get me wrong I always have and always will use my coupons and I do participate in stockpiling however I only keep the limit to 20 or 30 of items I will use everyday example like toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, mostly health and beauty items, cleaning supplies, paper goods and drinks and pet food. However last night this one guy had 1,000 tubes of toothpaste I cannot even imagine the thought. Then the other lady who claims she goes into the dumpster and picks up the thrown away inserts, you actually viewed her getting into one and it looks like she hurt herself doing it, yikes it is garbage there could be rats in there yuck yuck. Then another lady claims to spend 2,000 a year on buying extra newspapers each week, how in the world is that saving money. This same lady also showed right on national television how she gets out of her car and steals her neighbors newspaper to get extra inserts. That is out and out stealing I would be pissed if someone came on my lawn or driveway and took my paper I pay for each month. Finally now perhaps I am wrong but as long as I have using coupons, I have never been given any money back, last nite the lady got back 41.20 because after the coupons were doubled they exceeded the price of the items. Now for instance if say my colgate is on sale for 88 cents no way would they take a 1.00 coupon and double it and give me money back. I honestly think this show is ruining it for us legit coupon users. So any thoughts on the subject kindly share... Peace and blessings to all... Catherine

I saw the show. i believe the dumpster diving lady was climbing into a paper only recycling bin, so fairly clean. The lady who was stealing papers was actually picking up free papers that where delivered to foreclosure homes were no one was living. I have been watching the show and I think the shopping trips are boring. See the 4 carts worth $600 that they got for $6. Same thing every week. I would like to see someone doing the drug store deals. |

lisa I agree with all you said it is stealing no matter what, and also how much peanut butter or cans of soup can one family use. But to have 1,000 tubes of toothpaste is a serious waste even being free. I did notice this man who has the 1,000 tubes of toothpaste and he was also the same man who also purchased 1,000 boxes of cereal did donate. However I am wondering if it was not for the show would he really donated all those items I sincerely hope so because if your going to obtain that many items it would be a lovely idea to send it to the our service men and women or to poor people. Peace and blessings to all... Catherine

As long as they are using or donating the stuff, I see nothing wrong with taking papers off the yard of an empty house that is unoccupied. They are doing the owners a favor by making the place look neater. And perhaps then they take the papers that are not coupons and put them in the recycling bin where they "dive" to replace the coupon sections that they remove. The one I saw last was a woman who had never done such a large "shop", so I think the show producers are encouraging them to exceed what they would normally do to make the show more interesting. I don't think you could do that in my area because as far I know, there are no grocery stores that take computer generated coupons, double over 40 cents, or that have store loyalty cards. If there were, I would probably be more interested in more coupons too, but I never buy items that aren't something that I use anyway. |

Good grief! Even toothpaste has an exiration date! I would love to do better with sales and coupons than I do now, but I would be embarrassed to create such a commotion in a grocery store. I agree that this program is making all coupon shoppers look like a bunch of crazy folks. I would love to see a show that is more realistic but still shows great coupon shopping. |
