| How Obama treated a 911 victims relative.....
"Burlingame said she confronted Obama about Attorney General Eric Holder prosecuting the men who interrogated KSM, which may have produced intelligence leading us to bin Laden. Burlingame describes the encounter with Obama: "As a former attorney I know you can't tell the Attorney General what to do, he said, 'No, I can't.' But I said 'we –– that shouldn't stop you from giving your opinion. We wouldn't be here today if they hadn't done their jobs. Can't you at least give them your opinion.' And he said 'no I won't,' and he turned around and walked away." I saw her interviewed on Shep Smith’s show. She's the sister of one of the pilots that was killed on 9/11. She had said that she told the pres she was one of his biggest critics but wanted to say how thankful she was that he got Osama and a few other nice things. Then the Pres hugged her and she said the above…. You’d think Obama could have said the usual political jargon of “I’ll see what I can do” or something like that instead of what he did. I guess he didn’t have a teleprompter! lol I was impressed with the decision the President made to go in and get bin Laden however his behavior with this woman is pretty disgusting. I also don't think they should have given him that 45 minute funeral and burial at sea. The govt could have brought him back here and put him in an unmarked grave somewhere. With the body gone any future questions, etc... can never be answered. |

| I have no problem with the way he was disposed of. How you (general you) treat others says more about you than it does them. We, as a country, have more respect for human life and death than OBL, of course. I would not want OBL's flesh sharing the same dirt as any American. This way, he's GONE FOREVER. I do think even if there were an "unmarked" grave, someone would know where it was and leak that information. I think this was a very good decision to dump him at sea. JMO, of course.

It would have been totally wrong to bring obl to the USA for burial. We demand repatriation and we should allow it as well. I am not familiar with their religious views as far as burial at sea or land, cremation, donation, but I do think his family should have been alllowed to handle his remains. The goal was accomplished in his death and we should have been done at that point. dl |

I really don't understand, from your version, what happened and what he did wrong. Did she tell him that she didn't approve of him before she even asked her question? That always sets a good tone for a conversation. Did he lie to her? Did he not spend any time with her? Did he have others to meet and greet? Is she looking for a reason to complain? Is she looking for publicity that may have been lacking since the weeks after 9/11 when many of the survivors got interviewed and got lots more attention?

I'll try to explain it better. She did start out by saying she was one of his biggest critics BUT was very happy with how he got Osama, etc...She gave him several compliments. Then He hugged her. Then she asked about saying something to the AG and he said no and turned and walked away. I just thought it was pretty rude to just turn away like that. She is a victim and for him to hug her, then be short with her and turn around and leave seems odd to me. I guess I just don't believe that behind closed doors the AG and the Pres don't speak about anything. Isn't the President the AG's boss? Yes, she was upset with this.

First off --- this woman has a history. Do a search for her and Liz Cheney. Second, what horrible timing. This event was neither the time nor the place for such discussion unless one wanted it to become news. I hope he leaves her off the invite list in September. Second -- would you rather the President lied to her or obstruct justice? This was a no win situation and he walked away. Case closed. |
